When the United States Air Force was formed in 1947, it had only two squadrons. The first squadron was activated at Chanute Air Base in Wichita, Kansas on October 16th. The second squadron was activated at Selfridge Air Force Base in Detroit Michigan on November 3rd. The USAF initially deployed through the operational control of the ArmyAir Forces. In 1949, Strategic Air Command (SAC) was created and air forces were transferred to SAC from ArmyAir Forces. On February 1st, 1951 SAC became operational under the command of General Curtis LeMay. On May 1st 1951, a new wing was activated at Selfridge AFB called the 375th Bomb Wing ( 375 BW). This wing would be responsible for strategic bombardment of North Korea and other enemy targets within East Asia. It would also be able to provide logistical support to other wings assigned to SAC while they conducted their airstrikes against North Korea or any other target desired by General LeMay. On July 20th 1953 President Truman signed into law the National Security Act which created America’s first peacetime military establishment with over one million men and women serving overseas without pay as part of The United States Armed Forces Reserve Component (USAREC). This act gave rise to what is known as The American War Reserve Officers Association (AWROA). AWROA is a non-profit organization that helps officers who have retired from active duty enjoy quality life retirement benefits such as health insurance, social security, housing and funeral expenses once they reach age 70 years old or older if deceased. Withdrawn from service on September 15th 1955 due to budget constraints and disbandment of Tactical Air Command; Love Field became an inactive USAAF base after serving its purpose during World War II with B-29 Superfortresses being used for photo reconnaissance over Japan . However Love Field still contains evidence associated with Operation Crossroads including sixteen B-29 bomber engines that were removed from use at Ohsweken AB Netherlands during Phase IV Restoration Operations.. Also located on this field are three Tunnels which served as underground airfields for bombers during World War II: Love Field Tunnel #1 – now used as a Parking garage; Love Field Tunnel #2 – now used as office space; andLove Field–now closed–tunnel #3 which housed two large hangars capable of accommodating up to sixty Boeing 727 aircraft each!

The plane was given by Brigadier General Curtis E. LeMay and was used for training of aircrews at Moody Air Force Base.
Mooresville is located in Daviess County, Indiana. The population was 1,827 at the 2000 census. The town was founded in 1846 by John A. Moores and named for him. It became a city in 1907. The first post office in Mooresville was established in 1847. The present post office was established on December 3, 1907. As of the 2010 census, there were 1,827 people living in Mooresville. 98% of the population are White and 2% are African American or Black American heritage. There is no Hispanic or Latino origin reported among the population of Mooresville as of this date

The first gift history book was published in 1946, and it only documented gifts given to members of the military. There was no record of gifts given to civilians.
Mooresville, Indiana was founded in 1814 by General David Moores. The town grew rapidly due to its location on the Western border of what is now Kentucky and Ohio. In 1851, the town became a county seat and was renamed Moorestown. The population peaked at over 10,000 in 1870 but then declined due to immigration and other factors. The population decreased again until it reached just under 1,000 in 2000. The growth of the steel industry led to significant development in Mooresville during the late 1920s and early 1930s. A large number of jobs were created within the steel mills as workers produced products that drove down prices for consumers all over America. Today, Mooresville remains a manufacturing center with major employers including United States Steel Corporation, JBL Rubber Company, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, McCormick Companies Inc., PPG Pease Paper Products Company, Canon Inc., and others.
In 1814, the first white settlers arrived in Mooresville, Indiana. They were mostly farmers, but they started to build a few homes and businesses. By 1826, there were about 25 people living in Mooresville. The town was named for John P. Moore who donated the land to the town. In 1829, the first school was built in Mooresville. It was called the Indian School and it served children fromMooresville and surrounding villages. In 1846, a post office was established in Mooresville and it remained in operation until 1957.
