The Coast Guard in Lebanon, Indiana was founded on December 5th, 1918. The first Coast Guard detachment arrived in Lebanon on January 10th, 1919. The first officer and crew of the Coast Guard cutter Hennepin were selected from a pool of applicants and commissioned on February 12th, 1919. The first official mission of the Coast Guard detachment was to provide security for the then-new port of Beirut. Since its inception, the Coast Guard detachment has been involved in many important missions including helping to quash piracy and protect maritime resources; providing assistance during World War II; providing support to law enforcement during Hurricane Katrina; and currently providing emergency services to the community. Today, there are over 350 active duty members assigned to the Lebanese Coast Guard detachment with an additional 350 reserve members who are activated whenever needed. In addition, there are numerous patriotic volunteers who donate their time and energy to support our unit both at home and abroad.

Lebanon, Indiana is a small town in the state ofIndiana. The population was 3,089 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Terre Haute metropolitan area. Lebanon was founded in 1871 by men from Lebanon, Syria and Jordan who were seeking to create a new village in central Indiana. The town grew slowly until it gained national attention for its role in the Lebanese-Israeli war of 1978-1982. Afterward, much development took place in Lebanon including the construction of an interstate highway and several large shopping malls. In recent years, however, Lebanon has seen some declines in its population and economy due to migration from surrounding counties and low fertility rates.

The first organized coastal guard was established in 1892 and the current coast guard is under the command of the United States Coast Guard Seventh Fleet. In 1916, a law was passed that required all states to provide a coast guard to protect their citizens from piracy. This law led to the creation of the United States Coast Guard Reserve which became operational on November 15, 1916. On December 6, 1917, President Woodrow Wilson authorized the purchase of 4 U-boats by the Coast Guard for $1 million dollars. On May 15, 1918, President Wilson created an eighth corps (the Marine Corps) with jurisdiction over all waterborne activities within 100 miles of shoreline including seaports and harbors. The first marine unit activated under this new organization was Company A (4th Marines) on June 17, 1918 at Guantanamo Bay Cuba. Since its inception as a service branch of government it has played an important role in both World War 1 and World War 2 providing security along our coastline while also providing training for future military forces. These days there are over 14500 members in both active duty and reserve components of the Coast Guard making it one of America’s most effective stewards of our oceanside assets

Lebanon, Indiana is a small town in Butler County, Indiana, United States. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Indianapolis-Muncie-Independence Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1847 by Scots-Irish immigrants and named for Mount Lebanon in Palestine. It was originally located on a small stream that ran through the town. In 1875, it changed its name to Lebanon after the capital of Syria (then Beirut), which had been moved from Jerusalem to Beirut following World War I. The post office at Lebanon opened on October 14, 1875 and continued operation until it closed on December 5, 1925. Lebanon is known as "the crossroads of Butler County" because it served as both an agricultural center during the early years of this county's settlement and as a transportation hub for goods moving between Hoskinsville and Warsaw before Interstate 95 became available. Development around central Lebanon began around 1900 when two railroad companies began construction of line into this area: the Indianapolis & Louisville Railroad (later donated to Amtrak) and the Cincinnati/Northern Indiana Railway Company (Cincinnati Northern). Both lines were eventually merged into the Ohio Central Railroad system in 1960. The first residents of Lebanon were Scots-Irish immigrants who arrived from Ireland in 1847; they built businesses such as flour mills and grocery stores near what is now downtown Lebanon while also settling down among other Irish immigrants living elsewhere in Butler County. Over time, other groups of Americans followed suit: African Americans who worked as laborers or miners during Prohibition; Germans who came to work with their families members across America during World War II; Italian Catholics who took up residence in rural Butler County after escaping Mussolini's fascism; Poles who settled along American Routes 31 and 36 after emerging victorious from World War II without fighting any battles either side - all while maintaining their Polish language skills which many felt helped them survive during wartime times when many others chose not to return home Although Lebanese citizens have resided here since prehistory, intermarriage between these groups has been relatively low due largely to religious differences: most Lebanese Protestants are Protestant Christians while most African Americans are Baptists or Pentecostals; most Italians are Catholic but some Jehovah's Witnesses also live here; few Poles left after World War II ended Lebanese education levels remain lower than those found throughout much of Western Europe so opportunities for job experience outsideof agriculture may be limited but there are plenty of cultural attractions like art galleries and concert halls making visits worthwhile . Additionally there appear to be very few natural disasters which can disrupt daily life significantly
