Kokomo, Indiana is a city in Trumbull County, Indiana, United States. The population was 21,819 at the 2010 census. Kokomo is the county seat of Trumbull County. It is part of the Indianapolis–Indianapolis Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first European to visit what is now Kokomo was French explorer Pierre de Lacrosse in 1679. Lacrosse named the area "Kokomo" after his native village in France. The first permanent white settlers arrived in 1837 when George Armstrong Custer and his men set out from Fort Dearborn on their way to Little Bighorn. They camped near what is now town square and founded a trading post called "Custer's Fort". In 1840, David Whetstone moved his family from Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania to Kokomo and began selling goods he had manufactured there such as flour, soap and other items. By 1845, Whetstone had built a grist mill that raised corn for sale to local farmers; this mill remains operational today as First National Bank of Kokomo (FNB). A few years later another white settler named John Hargrave came to live in Kokomo and started purchasing land around town square which he used for gardening and raising livestock including cows and hogs. In 1849, Hargrave donated land north of town square for the city limits; this land became known as North Park Square In 1865, two brothers named William Harger & Jesse Henry opened a general store at Third Street and Main Avenue in downtown Kokomo which became one of the most popular retail destinations in central Indiana due to its large stockaded building with high ceilings that served as an excellent market place In 1895-1896 surveyors laid out streets grid pattern across much of central Indiana; this resulted in Second Generation Kane Road being renamed "Kokomolac Boulevard" after James Kapp who directed the surveyors A Fire destroyed most of buildings on Main Street between 4thStreet & 5thStreet during early morning hours on October 15th 1906 On July 14th 1912 construction began on new courthouse located east side of old Courthouse Square just southwest corner lot line owned by Lafayette Petroleum Company . Construction continued until November 3rd 1912 when it was finished under very difficult weather conditions . This courthouse contained three stories tall concrete walls with faced brick exterior .. courtrooms were about 25 feet wide x 30 feet long with 10 foot ceiling

The NRA quickly pushed for new regulations on firearm ownership, arguing that such legislation would prevent mass shootings like those at Sandy Hook Elementary School or Columbine High School. The NRA won out, and modern gun laws remain one of the NRA’s most successful lobbying efforts today. While there are many types of firearms available today – such as pistols and shotguns – handgun sales are still tightly regulated by law enforcement agencies across America. This has led to some controversy over whether or not handguns should be considered “firearms” under federal statutes. Some people argue that handguns are simply tools used for residential purposes; however, other individuals contend that any weapon capable of inflicting mortal injury should be categorized as a firearm under national law regardless of its intended use.

Kokomo is an unincorporated community in Kosciusko County, Indiana, United States. Kokomo was founded by the Potawatomi tribe in 1814. The post office at Kokomo was established in 1827, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. The town of Kokomo began as a simple settlement on the banks of the White River. Settlement proceeded slowly because of the scarcity of water resources and Indian hostilities against white settlers. In 1857, however, General John A. Breckinridge ordered all Native Americans living east of Fort Harrison to leave the area or be deported. This order created a demand for goods from local farmers and resulted in increased trade between Kokomo and eastern Michigan. The first schoolhouse was built on Main Street in 1857; it served as a meeting place for village residents before being replaced by a Methodist church in 1865. In 1898, during World War I, Kokomo became an important strategic location when Major General George Custer's Seventh Infantry Brigade attacked and destroyed the Battle of Washita Creek Bridge near present-day Midland City, Kansas. This event has been called one of history's most famous military engagements. After World War I ended, Kokomo continued to grow as a result of new technology advances; among these were two large gas stations built on Main Street in 1925 and 1927 respectively which helped contribute to the growth of automobiles within the community during this time period In 1938, threeited scientists working with photography pioneer Alfred Saint-John Tiltman conducted experiments at Kokomo Lake using Kodachrome film which would later become known as "the first digital photo." Their results were published world-wide and helped ushered-in an age where images could be stored electronically instead of having to be physically kept together on paper
Kokomo was founded in 1856 as a small village on the banks of the Kokomo River. The town grew rapidly due to its key location on the new Chicago, Indiana Railroad and its access to water resources. In 1902, Kokomo became a city and retains that status to this day. The city has undergone many changes over the years, including annexations and mergers with other municipalities.
