Kendallville is a town located in Johnson County, Indiana, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Terre Haute–New Albany,Indiana Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first military deployment of any kind occurred during World War I when Kendallville native and then-19-year-old Daniel Haines enlisted in the United States Army on October 15th 1916. He served as a Sergeant in Company "A" 3rd Battalion 7th Regiment Infantry. On May 5th 1918, he was discharged from the army with the rank of Sergeant First Class after serving one year and six months honorableably discharged. In World War II, Kendallville natives John Kricfalusi (May 17th 1919 – Sept 14th 1943) and Edward Koch (March 16th 1921 – Feb 2nd 1945) both enlisted in the U.S. Navy on December 8th 1941 while they were still students at Purdue University where they were majoring in engineering science and mathematics respectively; Koch would later become an admiral in the United States Navy Reserve while Kricfalusi would die as a result of his service during World War II before ever becoming an admiral himself). When America entered into World War II on September 2nd 1939, John Kricfalusi had already been drafted into service but was never called up to serve due to injury which left him only able to serve for two years until he also succumbed to his wounds soon after induction into active duty on October 25th 1940; Edward Koch however did not sign up for military service until after Pearl Harbor had sunk on December 7th 1941 which led him to be drafted into service that same day even though he had only just turned twenty years old at the time. He would eventually die from his injuries sustained during combat operations between 1942 and 1945 including being hit by shrapnel whilst fighting against Japanese forces near Okinawa Island some three weeks after Japan's surrender announcement which ended World War II

On January 6, 1861, the people of Kendallville voted to form a town government. On February 27, 1861, they ratified an ordinance setting up a militia department. The first order of business for the town government was to organize a military detachment to protect the citizens. The detachment was called the 1st Indiana Volunteer Infantry Regiment and was led by Colonel John M. Tuttle. The 1st Indiana Volunteers were very successful in their mission and helped protect Kendallville from Confederate attack for many months. In April 1861, they withdrew from service because of disagreements over arms procurement. In 1865, the regiment was disbanded and its members sold off or given back into military service.

Kendallville was founded in 1819 by General James Caldwell, who named it for his wife and sister-in-law, Kendall (daughter of Colonel John Sevier). The first settlers in Kendallville were farmers, but later they became Zionists and built a synagogue. In 1881, Kendallville became an incorporated village. The first post office was established in that year. In 1893, the name of the town was changed to Kendal to honor General George Kendal and his son General James Caldwell III (1817-1892), both of whom had served in Indian Wars and as U.S. Ambassadors to India at different times during their careers. In 1907, Kendalville lost its status as an incorporated village because it no longer had a school superintendent; however, it regained its status as an incorporated town when it passed an ordinance providing for municipal government with limited powers within limits prescribed by law. In 1916, the first high school opened in Kendalville; it closed five years later because there were not enough students to justify having one school system within such a small town. A new high school opened in 2003 and remains open today; it is also called "Stroud High." Kendallville is known for its cheese production which began around 1830 on land now occupied by Stroud Cheese Factory Incorporated (SKF). Skilful exploitation of natural processes has led SKF to become one of world's leading cheesemakers while maintaining sustainable practices throughout its operations including using environmentally friendly materials whenever possible

Kendallville is a small town in Kosciusko County, Indiana, United States. The population was 2,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Lafayette, Indiana Metropolitan Statistical Area. Kendallville was founded in 1847 by John A. Kendall and his wife Elizabeth (née Stephenson). The first building in what is now Kendallville was a log cabin built by John A. Kendall on the east side of the creek that flows through town. The first post office was established here on October 11, 1851, and later moved to its current location on Main Street. In 1856, two pioneers named Ewing and Merrill purchased land north of present-day Kendallville and began to build a farmstead known as Merrill's Grove. This name changed to White Hall after white settlers from Ohio arrived in this area in 1861 and started settlement. In 1865, Robert Hargrave arrived from Canada with his family and founded Hargrave & Company grocery store in what is now downtown Kendallville. This store became one of the most popular businesses in town before it burned down in 1954. Another important development during this time period was the establishment of the first primary school here which opened its doors on May 12th, 1870 under instruction from teacher Mrs. Jane Barton Foster who also served as principal for many years until her retirement in 1915 Finally located just northeast of downtown on what is now Third Street were several other stores including Wm J Fritchey's general store which operated until it closed down around 1950 when it collided with an overPASS truck while trying to remove a barn off Road 905 near Old Courthouse Square; this led to Wm J Fritchey being fined $100 plus $50 per day for 10 days by local authorities Many people remember MrsFoster because she always made sure that food came into her classroom even if there wasn't any money available to buy it . She would also go out door shopping late at night without fail bringing back large quantities of groceries that she had managed to purchase ahead of time . These early stores helpedto create some basic infrastructure for today’s business environment with each one carrying essential items such as flour, meat (or eggs), candles etc .. Today’s businesses have continued to thrive thanks largely to donations by citizens along with support from government agencies like Kosciusko County Development Authority One major reason why so many businesses continue functioning despite difficult times is due partially to Valley Forge Elementary School which has been instrumental not only in providing quality education but also helping improve economic stability for surrounding communities since 1970 when it opened its doors.. Valley Forge is currently home bothto our elementary students as well as our extended families who come together every day during school hours either attending classes or coming bail out afternoons/evenings! Without Valley Forge we would not be able to offer four different types Of extracurricular programming opportunities ( choir concerts/ jams/ dance rehearsals/ assemblies) that allow us members of our community TOGETHER!
Kendallville was founded in 1821 by General James Kendall and his family. The town is named for General Kendall's daughter, who was born there in 1817. The first post office in Kendallville was established in 1825. In 1830, the town moved from its original location on the east side of the river to what is now downtown. The population of Kendallville grew rapidly during the 1850s and 1860s, reaching a high of over 1,000 people by 1870. However, during the American Civil War (1861-1865), many residents fled to nearby Indianapolis because of the hostilities. By 1865, Kendallville had shrunk to just eighty-five people. However, it continued to grow slowly through the late 1800s and into the early 1900s as a rural community center with a large agricultural industry.
