The United States Air Force deployed gift history in Kendallville, Indiana when it stationed unit commander Staff Sgt. Tom Kappelz and his wife Maj. Lisa Kappelz in the community in early 1990s. The couple were first married in 1978 and have two children, Landon and Averi. The Kappelsons are long-time residents of the community and have been involved with many local organizations. They are currently active members of the Kendallville Chamber of Commerce and also serve on the board for the Kiwanis Club of Kendallville. The couple is also honorary members of both clubs. Tom Kappelz has served as a staff sergeant with the USAF since 1980, most recently serving as an airman commanding officer at Hurlburt Field AFB, Florida from 1992-1996. He has been stationed at numerous bases around the world including Kadena AB, Okinawa; RAF Mildenhall, England; Tinker AFB, Oklahoma City; Yokota AB, Japan; Offutt AFB Nebraska; Ramstein AB Germany; Holloman AFB New Mexico; RAF Coningsby UK flying training squadron 6 Sqdn based at Croughton airfield near Northamptonshire County Council town of Banbury Vale in Oxfordshire UK during Operation Palladium (1992-1994). He was awarded his wings after completing ten months advanced flying training at Mitchel Air Force Base near Boston MA in 1984. Lisa Kappelz is a lieutenant colonel with over 25 years of service with US Air Force special forces units throughout her career which began as an intelligence officer assigned to Headquarters Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Northeast Region headquarters located at Maxwell AFB Alabama from 1985-1989 before assignment to Headquarters USAF Special Operations Command Europe (HQ SOEME) Frankfurt am Main/Main airport where she served until 1994 when she transferred to HQ United States Air Forces Europe (USAF EASTERN STRATEGY CENTER) Her decorations include three awards for distinction - “Distinguished Flying Cross” “Air Medal” “Olympic Gold Medal” She was born October 21st 1958 to Donnie & Louise Kappelman who reside in Plymouth Meeting Township within Lebanon County PA . After high school graduation from Stroudsburg Area High School she attended Monmouth University where she earned her commissioning degree in 1989 as a lieutenant colonel working Security Intelligence Squadron 514th Tactical Airlift Wing Cryptologic Warfare center USAFE Randolph AFB TX . In 1995 Major Lisa moved back East to be attached directly to HQ USAF SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND Europe where she served until 2003 when she retired after 34 years military service that included deployments worldwide

KENDALLVILLE, INDIANA is a small town located in the south central portion of Indiana. The population was 9,075 at the 2010 census. Kendallville is an agricultural and rural community with a mostly white population. The economy relies on agriculture, manufacturing, and service jobs. There are also some small businesses and restaurants in the community. Kendallville has a rich history dating back to 1851 when it was founded as a post office by John Swayne and his family. The village became a part of Terre Haute County in 1872 after it was annexed by that county from neighboring Union County. In 1951, Kendallville incorporated as a city and grew rapidly due to its location near the then- entrances to both Terre Haute and Elkhart counties. However, Kendallville's growth slowed during the late 1990s and 2000s as suburban development increased in nearby Terre Haute and Elkhart counties respectively. Today, Kendallville remains an agricultural community with many homes built before World War II that still stand today. Kendallville is home to one of Hoosier country's most popular tourist attractions - the Kendallvillette Museum of Art & History - which opened its doors in 1998 on Main Street in downtown Kendallville. This museum offers free admission for all visitors ages 12 or older every day of the week except federal holidays (Christmas Day/New Year's Day). Admission includes access to over 50 art exhibitions from around India including works by contemporary Indian painters such as Subhash Chandra Bose and Anand Mohan Ratna Zandile Dlamini; American artists such as Edward Munch; Japanese artist Kenzo Tange; Asiatic painters such as Hiroshige; and European painters such as Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, et al.. The museum also features an extensive collection of local memorabilia including items from local farmers' markets and car shows throughout the year!

One of the most famous air force gifts was The Boeing 747 Airlift Package. This gift was sent in 1990 in order to commemorate the 25th anniversary of The Boeing Company. The package included 12 Boeing 747 passenger planes and 11 cargo planes, all painted in blue and white stripes with a red Lockheed Martin F-104 Starfighter fighter jet on each plane. This gift was conceptionsed by then-Lt. Gen Michael Eisner, who served as President George H.W. Bush’s Air National Guard director at the time. Another popular air force gift is The Airbus A380 Airlift Package. This package was sent in 2002 in order to celebrate 10 years of Airbus manufactured airplanes being delivered to American Airlines passengers around the world! The package included 18 Airbus A380 passenger planes and 6 Airbus A321 cargo planes, all painted in blue and white stripes with an American Airlines logo on each plane. This gift was conceived by then-Air Chief Marshal Sir Tim Brownell, who later became UK Prime Minister Tony Blair’s defence advisor during his first term in office

Kendallville is a small town located in central Indiana. It was founded in 1834 by the Kendall family, who were farmers and merchants. The town grew rapidly during the early 19th century, thanks to its location on the newly developed Wabash River. In 1868, Kendallville became a city and remained that way until 1971. The decline of the manufacturing industry in the late 20th century led to a decline in population and economic activity within Kendallville. However, there are currently efforts underway to revive the local economy by focusing on arts and culture, as well as tourism.
In 1814, Kendallville was founded by Nicholas Kendall. The town developed around a post office and store, and the first school was built in 1828. In 1846, the town was platted and named for General David Kendall, who had served in the Indian Wars. The population of Kendallville grew rapidly after railroads came to the area in the early 1800s, and by 1900 it had reached over 5,000 people. During World War II, many workers from nearby Muncie were recruited to work in defense industries in Indiana and Kentucky. After the war ended, Kendallville experienced rapid growth as businesses opened up and people returned to their homes. In 2000, the city limits were expanded to include parts of east-central Vermilion Township.
