Copley named his coffee company JACOBSON COFFEE CO., LTD., after himself and his brother Jameson. In 1902, the JACOBSON COFFEE CO. LTD. merged with another local coffee company, the CRANE ROASTERS COMPANY OF INDIANAPOLIS, INC., to form THE FIRST BARS & BREWERY CORPORATION (FBC). FBC began brewing espresso in 1951 and became one of the most successful small businesses in Indianapolis during the early 21st century. The first Starbucks location opened in 1984 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Between 1984-2005 FBC operated more than 30 stores across Indiana and Ohio including locations in Muncie, Indianapolis, Kokomo, Evansville, Lafayette/East Lafayette/West Lafayette/New Albany/Carbondale etc.. In 2006 FBC merged with Dutch Coffee Company Limited to become ABERDEEN ANDERSON COFFEE COMPANY (A&C). A&C operates over 100 stores throughout Michigan and Ohio including locations in Detroit Lakes,, Grand Rapids,, Lansing,, East Lansing,, Traverse City,, Muskegon Heights,, Jackson Heights,, South Bend etc..
