It has been a long time since coffee was roasted in Griffith, Indiana. In 1881, the first store in town, Post and Wagon Coffee House, began serving coffee. The business continued to operate until it was destroyed by fire in 1926. The first roasters in Griffith were James and John McNaught. They started up the business after returning from World War I with an interest in coffee. The McNaught family operated the store for over 50 years before it closed its doors in 1984. In 1990, JB’s Coffee opened up shop on Main Street. The business is still operating today and sells fresh roasted coffee as well as pastries and chocolates. It is one of the oldest businesses in town and has been around for over 30 years! In 1993, Griggs’ Coffee opened up shop on First Street. This business served delicious coffee from start to finish! Griggs’ Coffee is still going strong today and offers delicious coffee made fresh every day!

Griffith is a small town in Hendricks County, Indiana, United States. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago–Naperville– Wheaton, IL metropolitan area. The Griffith community was founded in 1834 by John and Josie Griffith on a tract of land that had been donated to them by General George Mitchell. The griffiths were among the earliest settlers in what would become Hendricks County. They were soon joined by other pioneers, including James Aiken and his family who arrived in 1835 from Kentucky. By 1840, there were over 100 residents living in Griffith. The griffiths supported themselves with farming and mercantile pursuits until they built a sawmill on the Stephenson River in 1845 which became one of the most successful enterprises in town history. In 1886, the Griffith family sold their sawmill to David Sibley and began operation as Sibley & Griffith Manufacturing Company which continued until 1986 when it merged into International Harvester Corporation (IHC). In 1990 IHC moved its corporate headquarters from Indianapolis to Grove City, Ohio where it remains today. Griffith has always been an important cultural center for surrounding towns due to its rich history and culture which includes both its own unique attractions such as its Historic District (listed on the National Register of Historic Places) and its relationship with nearby Chicago – home of Abraham Lincoln – through trade and friendship dating back more than two centuries. Additionally, Griffth's location within walking distance of many major professional institutions - including Northwestern University - has made it ideal for students or professionals seeking easy access to downtown Chicagoland without having to leave their residential area.

Griffith, Indiana was founded in 1836 by James Robertson Griffith. The town was named after General Andrew Jackson, who had fought in the American Revolution. The first settlers were farmers and they started to grow corn, wheat, and other crops. In the early 1800s, Griffith became a small trading post. In 1825, Griffith built a sawmill on the current site of the town. By 1830, Griffith had a population of around 100 people. By 1840, Griffith had increased its population to 250 people. In 1845, Griffith became an independent city and it began to develop as a commercial center with businesses such as grocery stores, hotels, and dry goods stores. In 1870-71, Griffith hosted the annual meeting of the United States Congress which gave rise to its nickname as "The Capitol of America." The city also played an important role in Indian Wars and during World War II when it helped produce food for soldiers stationed in Europe. Today Griffin continues to serve as an important community with many businesses located within its boundaries
