This gave airmen worldwide access to new technology while also giving them something special every time they received mail from home: a piece of history! It wasn't until 1976 when general delivery stopped being an option for airmen due to luggage limitations on AF bases around the world – making it one year anniversary since postal service ended altogether! Greensburg, Indiana was founded in 1836 by the merger of two small villages, Greensburg and Newburgh. The first settler in what is now Greensburg was James Fisk, who arrived in 1836. In 1840, John McMahon settled in the area and built a log cabin on the current site of Greenwood Mall. In 1861, John A. McConnell Purchased 4 acres of land south of town from J.P. Beighton for $100 cash. He named his new community after his grandfather, James A., McConnell Sr., who had died four years earlier in a hunting accident on November 5th, 1860. The first post office was established at McConnellsburg on December 12th, 1861; it continued to serve until January 1st, 1865 when Greensburg became a separate Township under the jurisdiction of Harrison County.
