The Coast Guard gift history in Goshen, Indiana can be traced back to 1919. At that time, the Goshen Volunteer Fire Department was established and soon started receiving donations of items such as radios, tools, and clothing from individuals and businesses. In 1951, the Coast Guard purchased its first set of apparatus for use on the Goshen waterfront- a fireboat called the Ulysses S. Grant. The Coast Guard has continued to make donations throughout its history and currently operates 16 boats including 11 large patrol boats. Today, the Goshen Volunteer Fire Department is one of only a few organizations in Indiana that receive gifts from the Coast Guard in order to provide lifesaving services on our state’s coastline. Gifts have also been given in memory of members who have passed away or were injured during their service with the Coast Guard. Goshen, Indiana is a small town located in the state ofIndiana. The population was 1,834 at the 2010 census. Goshen is part of the Terre Haute, Indiana metropolitan area. It is home to Purdue University and the Goshen-Purdue Highland School District. The name "Goshen" comes from an old French word meaning "place where beans are grown." In 1824, a group of farmers in this area founded the town on land they had purchased from the Shawnee Nation. They named their new community after General Lafayette, who had died in France just a few years earlier. The first post office opened in 1827 and was called Goshenville. By 1840, when Goshen incorporated as a village, it had become one of the most popular small towns in central Indiana for coffee farmers looking for fertile soil and easy access to transportation. Thanks to its close proximity to Chicago and other large cities during that time period, Goshen grew rapidly and by 1851 it boasted over 100 residents! In 1868, when Goshan became an official city – making it one of only five cities in central Indiana not granted such status by the legislature – its population hit 2,500! After experiencing some financial setbacks during World War I (due to prohibitionism) and then experiencing rapid growth during World War II ( due to wartime production), Goshene's heyday came again around 1950s with nearly 3,000 residents! However, recent economic woes have led to declines in both populations and property values throughout much of downtown; however there are some pockets of renaissance still happening today including around Main Street where live music concerts take place nightly

This ship was designed by Nicholas-Jacques Conte and built at Portsmouth Navy Yard under construction by Captain James Cranché Jr.. Constitution served as flagship for Commodore Matthew Perry during his ill-fated attempt to explore Japan in 1853-54. In 1893 Congress established an appropriation for coastal defense, which was later renamed Coast Guard Service Field Bureau when it became part of The Department Of Commerce And Labor on October 15th 1920 . On September 14th 1922 the first cutter was christened USCGC Harper (MCGrath) in honor of Mrs.(Lillie) Acheson Harper who had been instrumental in helping establish The Department Of Commerce And Labor . On May 25TH 1929 USCGC Chase (PG 21) was launched at Brooklyn Navy Yard after being funded by Mr.(William Randolph Hearst). Goshen is a small town in Hancock County, Indiana, United States. The population was 1,854 at the 2010 census. Goshen was founded in 1824 by John and Susannah Goshen. It was named after Gossen Township in England where they were born and raised. The Goshens had three children: John (1820-1902), Anna (1822-1900), and Reuben (1825-1920). In 1827, John's father died suddenly and John took over the family farmstead. In 1830, he married Sarah Winchester; they had four children: Betsey (1831-1960), Emma (1833-1912), Huldah (1835-1945) and Newton Hampshire Goshen Winchester Jr. (October 15, 1840 – May 6, 1923). Sarah also taught school for a time before becoming a midwife. In 1834–5, when Posey County was created from parts of Hancock County, the Goshens moved to Poseyville on their farmstead. They served as commissioners there until their death in 1902. Reverend Ezra Porterfield visited them there during his visit to Poseyville in 1865; he described it as "a little village with neat houses all around." Reverend Porterfield donated land for the present day elementary school which opened its doors to students on October 1st 1925. In 1903 Robert Cargill built the first brick home in Goshen; this house still stands today on Main Street next to the Post Office building which also housed the Bosworth Mfg Co., an early electronic commerce company that folded up shop in 2003 according to local media reports . The first post office was built here by Wm Hallett about 1875 . From 1905 until 1956 it served as the headquarters of Hanks & Hastings Mill Company which made flour for many restaurants including KFC . There have been several other businesses since then but none have lasted more than 10 years or 250 employees plus . Since World War II much has changed especially due to waves of immigration from Europe along with changes happening at home such as highways being built that allowed easy access across state lines for people seeking work opportunities outside of their home countries without leaving their homes or villages etc... so much so that some say what once constituted one side of town now constitutes another side completely
Goshen, Indiana was founded on October 14, 1814 by a group of farmers led by Christopher Goshen. The town was named for General John C. Fremont who had helped create the Indiana Territory in 1812.
