There are many coffee stories in Franklin,Indiana. One of the most famous is that of Maga Coffee. It all began with a small family farmstead near the town of Franklin. In the early 1800s, John and Rebecca Maga ran a small grocery store in their home. They sold coffee beans to local farmers and buyers alike. Over time, John and Rebecca’s store became one of the most popular in town. The magasins had a large variety of coffee products, as well as baked goods and other items. The couple also started serving up morning coffee to residents on their front porch. In 1902, they opened a second store located just off Interstate 65 in nearby Evansville. This shop became known for its wide selection of French press coffee products as well as eggs, bacon, sausage and ham sandwiches from the bakery on site! In addition to his own stores, John also operated several more distribution plants throughout Indiana until his death in 1954 at age 89 years old. Today, Reuben’s Coffee continues to serve up quality java every day at two Franklin locations!

Maga coffee began as a small family-owned business in Franklin, Indiana in 1909. The first maga coffee was sold by the Magas family to S.A. Kapp and Sons of Indianapolis, Indiana for $1.50 per pound. In 1922, maga coffee was re-established as a separate business within the same family with Fenton Maga serving as the proprietor and CEO until his death in 1984. In 1982, Frank Monell opened up his own store called 'The Coffee House' which became one of the leading purveyors of maga coffee throughout the Midwest. In 1998, The CoffeeHouse closed its doors due to competition from larger chains such as Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks. However, their legacy continues to be felt through their continued support of local businesses and their commitment to providing quality products at affordable prices.
Franklin, Indiana is a small town in the US state of Indiana. The population was 5,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Evansville metropolitan area. Franklin is named after Benjamin Franklin, an American statesman and philosopher who was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. The first European to visit Franklin was on July 4, 1776, when Lieutenant Colonel James K. Polk sailed into what is now known as Indiana Harbor from Pensacola, Florida with his party to explore new land that lay between Spanish and British possessions in North America. They landed on what is now called diplomatically protected Indian shoreline at Sandusky Bay and built their first houses there around 1779-1780 according to reports by French traders living nearby. In 1812 Ulysses S Grant moved his family from Hobart Township (now Terre Haute) in Michigan Territory to Indianapolis following its admission as a city in 1827. At this time much of present-day Marion County was still part of Wayne County and only a few miles north were Fort Wayne and Telluride Springs where Grant's father had settled in 1800 upon purchasing land northeast of then for $10 per acre ($140 per km²). In 1836 he donated two blocks east of High Street (north side), between State Street and Dearborn Street (west side), for use as a public square which became known as "Grant Square." As Hamilton College began operations in that square in 1837 it erected a log building on one endowment block opposite the square which served as its first President's House until it burned downridden during World War II; fortunately no student body resided therein at that time or they would have been subject to tuition payments due since those days by TheHamiltonCollege Foundation Inc., successor institution today! During the Civil War homes near Ft Wayne were used by soldiers on furlough while their familiesHide sold hardware along with other items they acquired during their captivity; many officers' wives also raised vegetables on confiscated farmlands adjacent to Ft Wayne Arsenal complex Though most residents evacuated before hostilities began others such as Mrs. John Pemberton Quesnel who returned home briefly before moving back out again after her husband's death did not leave without taking some personal belongings with her including five slaves she owned whom she transported across country into Union lines just prior to his death at Appomattox Court House; these captive blacks later acquired full citizenship under the Thirteenth Amendment which ratified November 1865.) Franklin was founded in 1776 by the brothers Benjamin and James Franklin. The first post office in Franklin was opened in 1779. The city was made a county seat in 1836. In 1871, the city became an incorporated municipality. In 1923, the city merged with the nearby town of Fort Wayne to form the current city of Indianapolis.
