In 1884, an entrepreneur named George Maga opened the first maga coffee stand in Fishers, Indiana. The coffee was a blend of Turkish and Ethiopian beans that was ground to order and served cold. In 1922, Mr. Maga's son, Harry Maga, opened the second maga coffee stand in Fishers. His business grew and by 1938, Harry had his own store. By this time, magas were being sold all over the United States as well as in other countries around the world. Fishers is a city in central Indiana, United States. The population was 382 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Posey County and the second largest city in southern Indiana. Fishers was founded in 1824 by John Fisher, a whitesmith and surveyor. The original name of the town was "Fishersburg". In 1851, the town became part of Posey County when it was created from Knox and Vigo counties. The first post office in Fishers opened on October 12, 1824, under the name "Fishersburg". On November 3, 1827, the name of the town changed to "Fishers". In 1851, Posey County became divided into two parts - one including Fishers and another including Danville - and so the new spelling for both towns became "Fishers." On March 3, 1865, as part of a general sale conducted by circuit court judge James M. Hennepin during an agricultural depression that had hit America at this time, all properties within Posey County were sold at auction to pay off government debt incurred duringthe Mexican-American War. This event is generally considered to be when Fishers began its rapid growth as a business area due to its close proximity to other major cities in America during this time period. In 1907–1908 (during Andrew Johnson's administration), local businessmen spearheaded efforts to build what would become Indianapolis' only municipally owned water filtration plant which later became known as Indianapolis' first water system
Since the beginning of coffee history, there have been many attempts to create a perfect cup of coffee. Some people believe that there is no such thing as a perfect cup of coffee, and that each person's individual preferences will differ. However, regardless of what someone believes, it can be said that the first true maga coffee was made in 1795 by Nicholas-Jacques Conte at his estate in Rome. As with all things related to coffee, there are many stories and anecdotes about this early attempt. The first authenticated record of espresso being brewed was on October 5th, 1795 by Matteo Beaufort at his café in London. At that time espresso was considered an Italian drink and not yet Americanized. The first known roast/filter combination for espresso was called "Nero" after the Emperor Nero's favorite type of beans. In 1812 Giovanni Maggiore created the world's first single origin blend which became popularly known as "Giovanni Maggio". In 1814 Girolamo Lavoni succeeded Gianni Beretta as head brewer at Pisa Castle; he introduced a new roasting process which resulted in better tasting beans than before. This also led to increased popularity for espresso throughout Italy and abroad. It wasn't until 1870 when Luigi Bezzera started brewing under license from Affinietto della Scala (the second largest producer) that espresso began becoming widely available outside Italy proper. Espresso continued its traditional growth period through World War II but experienced a downturn due to economic difficulties; however, it has since resumed its ascent into prominence again thanks largely to technological advancements and increasing interest within both professional and amateur circles alike.
The first coffee was roasted in 1524 by Lorenzo de' Medici, Duke of Milan. Coffee beans were grown on the slopes of thehill of Montecitorio, near Rome. The process of roasting coffee beans began with a water bath or “dish” that brought the grounds to a boil before being poured off and left to cool.
Fishers is a town in and the county seat of LaPorte County, Indiana, United States. The population was 5,814 at the 2010 census. It lies on the southern border of LaPorte County and is south of Indianapolis. Fishers History began with pioneers who arrived in 1821 when General David Wilkinson founded what is now known as Fishers. At the time, there were only three families living in town – the Wilkinson's, Prentice's and Rankins'. The first post office was established in 1825 and was called "Plymouth". In 1827, a store was built by John Rankin and named "Rankin & Co." By 1830, there were twelve businesses in town. In 1832, William Hennessey organized a Methodist church which became the first Baptist church in Fishers. The Town of Fishers was formed from part of LaPorte Township on February 15th, 1840. On July 1st of that year it consisted of 8 parcels totaling . On October 15th 1850 (just 2 years after Fischer's incorporation), all but one parcel had been added to form today’s Town limits; making it a total area just over . In 1865-1866 a new mill was built for George Waddell Sr., which became an important factor in early development of the community. A post office opened on November 3rd 1870 under original name “Fischer” with 10 residents serving at one time while later expanding to 12 residents before being discontinued due to low postage rates…..In 1904-1905 another mill operated by Waddell also supplied flour for local restaurants until it closed down….The community experienced rapid growth during prohibition as many people migrated into Indiana to find work opportunities outlawed by federal law……After prohibition ended numerous businesses closed up shop leaving much vacated land available for housing…………Prior to World War II (1939-1945), fishing operations sustained most residents as manufacturing declined………………………Today there are few if any businesses left operating within this once thriving community…………………………When complete this paper will provide an overview of both its rich history and current condition
