Coffee has been a part of many people's lives since it first aired in Switzerland in 1795. People would come to the city of Zürich and purchase coffee beans from a local roaster, which they would then grind and store in their homes. The coffee beans were roasted fresh each morning and enjoyed throughout the day. The Dutch began drinking coffee in the early 1600s, so the bean trade between Europe and Asia became very important. In 1814, Antonio Biedermann founded an Italian-owned coffee business in Elkhart, Indiana. This company became one of the most successful in America, exporting its coffee all over the world. In 1868, entrepreneur George Riegger opened his own grocery store on Main Street in Elkhart with his brother-in-law Jacob Weber. Riegler soon realized that he could sell more coffee than any other grocer in town. He started making espresso drinks for his customers and selling them direct to their homes. In 1907, Donato Conte came to Elkhart from Italy to open a bakery called La Caffetteria della Misericordia (The Charity Coffee House). He began brewing his own coffee as well as providing delicious pastries and bread baskets to customers at his shop. Eventually, Conte opened two more bakeries: La Pizzeria del Gesuita (The Jesuit Pie Shop) and La Bottega d'Italia (The Italian Bakery). These establishments quickly gained popularity among locals and tourists alike because of their delicious food AND excellent customer service! In 1916, Donato Conte passed away but left behind a legacy of great customer service that continues today!

Elkhart, Indiana is a city in Elkhart County, Indiana, United States. The population was 11,589 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Elkhart County. As of the 2010 census, racial and ethnic makeup of the city was 86% White, 12% Black or African American, 0.1% Native American, 2% Asian, 1.2% from other races, and 1.4% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5%. Elkhart was founded on December 26th 1824 by General Andrew Jethro Gibbs as a small community on the east bank of the Koshkonka River near what is now known as Bigelow Road and North Street in present-day Elkhart Township. The first store in town was built by Ebenezer Smith and Wm Hargrave about 1830 and it served as the only grocery for many years until a store owned by Elisha Beech opened in 1839 which became world-renowned for its excellence in produce classification according to George Washington Carver's Vegetable Gardening Manual (1899). The first post office in town was established on January 14th 1836 by order of President James K. Polk with Seneca Cushman serving as receiver; this office closed on February 15th 1840 due to bad debts incurred during Indian Wars fought between United States troops and native nations that had been part of the California Gold Rush era including those under Chief then Colonel Manuel Arguello who had agreed to sell land north of Chicago to Ulysses S Grant so that Ulysses S could open up new Territory called Illinois without having to fight for it In 1847 John Auld erected a log cabin just northwest of where he lived today at 433 N Main – also known as Auld’s Corners – along US Highway 6 although he never actually set foot there until after his death some time before 1860 when his grandson Christopher Auld moved into that building which still stands today In 1865 Elkhart trustees voted unanimously not to annex more than one-third of Vianney Township due mainly because they felt Vianney had enough residents already while Donnelley Township would have added too much development potential which they did not believe would make sense given how populous Seymour was already . In 1870 an act passed Congress granting township status to all unincorporated areas within ElkhART County limits made annexation possible with no vote required by either body A year later another act granted cities charter status making them self-governing municipalities subject only to state laws governing their various aspects such as police jurisdiction etc On July 1st 1872 Harrison & Son Electric Light Company organized with three men: Nicholas Harrison (founder), Israel Winchester (president),andAsahel Harrison (director) becoming one of America’s earliest electric light companies . On October 16th 1898 citizens raised money through JA Bank drive for a new schoolhouse which eventually became home/purposeway park across from current high school

Elkhart, Indiana was founded in 1828 by Isaac Norris and his brother John. The city was named for Colonel Elijah Harford, who had recently become governor of the state. Elkhart quickly became a small town with a population of around 100 people. However, its growth continued through the years and by 1868 it had reached 400 people. The city's growth led to an increase in traffic and pollution which caused many residents to move out of the city. In 1907, Elkhart experienced its first fire when a paper mill caught on fire. By 1912, Elkhart had lost over half its population due to industrialization and poor living conditions. However, it regained some of its population during World War I when soldiers stationed in the city moved into the surrounding villages. During World War II, Elkhart saw significant growth as war-time factories were built in nearby Hammond and Wabash counties. This led to an increase in jobs for locals as well as increased development in the city center which helped keep Elkhart afloat during times of economic drought. In 1951, after several years of discussion between local officials and developers,Elsahtreet became one of America's first suburbs when subdivisions were developed outside the downtown area
The first white settlers in Elkhart County arrived in 1814. In 1827, the county was organized and named for General Anthony Wayne. The population of Elkhart County grew rapidly during the 1830s, reaching over 100,000 by 1840. The county seat was moved to Elkhart in 1845 and remained there until it was moved to present-day Terre Haute, Indiana in 1956.
