He resigned his commission on October 10th 1865 due to health reasons; however his brigade continued operations until November 3rd 1865 when it reached Indianapolis and disbanded there as part of that division's reorganization process... Colonel Denny is buried at Elmwood Cemetery in downtown Elkhart."

On December 5th, 1868 an act was passed by Congress entitled “An Act forthe encouragement of manufactures” which authorized men employed in manufacturing enterprises within five miles of any city or town to buy food without paying for it; this act failed to take effect until after the Panic of 1893 when prices began to drop due to bankruptcies throughout America; as a result many small businesses closed their doors during that time In 1924 there were only two people living in Elkhart Township: Cuthbert Latham and his wife Gertrude Easley who lived on Spring Street between Third Avenue South and Fourth Avenue South On October 3rd 1925 Ernest Wigger became the first black person born in Elkhart Township when he married Lula Mae Dixon Elkhart Township formally changed its name from Maple Grove Township on November 1st 1927 after residents voted 54% yes against changing it back to Elmira Township because they felt it would revert back to Indian control if they did so In 1951 Samuel Morse moved from Indianapolis, Indiana to live with his parents until he could get work permit which he then applied for at Ford Motor Company where he worked until 1957 when he got his green card Pete Seeger played music around town starting with dances outside First Baptist Church on Main Street before getting his own equipment and started playing at various places such as Macdonalds Cafeteria on State Road 624 near Broadway during lunch hours before becoming nationally well known In 1965 Dr Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech took place here followed by other civil rights protests taking place throughout central Indiana including Dearborn Heights – home of East Side High School – Hammond – West Side High School – Evansville – North Central High School (now Valparaiso University) – Lafayette - Crystal City - Plainfield - Seymour - Buffalo Grove - Highland Park
