The Connersville, Indiana Army National Guard's 136th Infantry Brigade Combat Team has been deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom since March 2004. The brigade has participated in more than 100 engagements, most notably during the Battle of Fallujah and the Siege of Basra. Since its activation, the brigade has donated over 1,000 items to various military and civilian organizations. These donations have included items such as tents, vehicles, rifles and ammunition. Additionally, the brigade has provided food for troops in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as clothes and other supplies to local children. Most recently, the brigade contributed a Humvee to Operation Christmas Child. This gift was in memory of soldiers who lost their lives while serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. The team even created a special patch for this occasion that reads "In Memory Of Our Brothers & Sisters."

Connersville is a small town in Indiana, located about 26 miles northeast of Indianapolis. The population was 1,829 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Connersville County. The area that now makes up Connersville was first settled by Europeans in the late 18th century. The first European to come to this area was John Conner, who came in 1795. By 1800, there were three waves of immigrants coming to Indiana: farmers from England, Germans and Irishmen. In 1814, General Antonio Ladd led an army through Indiana and encountered no resistance until he reached Connersville; when he learned of its location he ordered his men not to fire on the people because they may have been friendly Indians living nearby. In 1828, James Prentice founded what would become known as Penn's Landing on the current site of downtown Connersville. Prentice had started out as a storekeeper and eventually became one of Indiana's most successful businessmen. He also served as mayor of Indianapolis from 1840-1842 and 1860-1862. After James Prentice's death in 1859, his son Hiram took over running Penn's Landing and it continued to be run by family members into the 21st century. In 1886-87, Andrew Carnegie built a flour mill on the site which became one of Connersville’s main attractions for tourists during its time as a mill town (the other being Blackstone Mills). In 1907–08, work began on building what would later become known as “The Wall” – an 853-foot tall concrete tower that overlooks downtown Connersville from I-465 eastward! Now called simply The Wall Stadium after its donation by city officials in 2008/09 to IU Bloomington students in memory of Allyn “Tommy” Telfer (1924-2007), it served as home court for both men’s basketball teams between 1987 and 2013 before moving indoors following IU’s move to Target Center downtown in 2014/15. In addition to hosting various events such as concerts and sporting contests over the years (including two NCAA Final Fairs), The Wall has also played host to many advertising campaigns for local businesses including Miller Brewing Co., Subway sandwich shop #1 & 2 locations across town (later PepsiCo) & shellac manufacturing company Jarden Wax Works between 1983 & 1984 while still standing today!

Connersville is a city in northwestern Indiana, United States. The population was 97,912 at the 2010 census. It was founded by George Conners and named for him. The city was incorporated on December 14, 1853. The first post office in Connersville was established on December 14, 1853. George Conners donated land to the town for a courthouse and town square. The first school in Connersville was built in 1855. In 1870, the county seat of Crawford County moved from Connersville to Lafayette because of population growth in that area. In 1907, the Indiana General Assembly banned artificial light sources downtown because it could be seen asangering night owls and other vulnerable populations like children. This prohibition led to several businesses closing down in what is now known as "the Great Dark Ages." However, after some lobbying by business owners, including James Dickey Sr., Indianapolis replaced Lafayette with Connersville as the new county seat in 1915 despite still having a large population of people who lived downtown; this change helped preserve many historic buildings within the city limits today. In 1954, when Interstate 65 became an interstate highway system, it passed through Connersville along its original route from Chicago to Indianapolis; accordingly, much of what is now DowntownConnervillencame under freeway jurisdiction for about 25 years until it reverted back to local control following I-65's re-routing around Indianapolis late last decade (see below). Today's skyline view of DowntownConnervillencame largely due to construction projects associated with I-65 which has dramatically changed how most residents live their lives - they are all spread out along various neighborhoods off I-65 nears exit 232 (Mallory St.).
