Cedar Lake is a small town in Tippecanoe County, Indiana, located on the east side of the village of Cedarburg. The population was 1,821 at the 2010 census. Cedar Lake is part of the Lafayette Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in this area were three families who arrived on horseback in 1814. The first post office was established in 1828 and was called Cedarburg. In 1836, a group of farmers from Illinois settled near the present site of Cedar Lake and named it after their home state. The first store opened in 1868 and became known as the "Centreville Store." In 1907, a large dam was built on Cedar Creek to increase water supplies for residents of neighboring towns like Lafayette and West Lebanon. This dam created what is now known as Cedar Lake. The Village of Cedarburg incorporation took place on October 15, 1912. At that time, there were only 194 people living in what later became known as Cedarburg Township; however, by 1915 there were over 350 people living there including 170 farmers and 50 mechanics. During World War II many local businesses participated in munitions production such as textiles and aluminum cans through contracts with General Motors Corporation (GMC). After the war ended, GM discontinued its involvement with these businesses but left some legacy products such as cars still produced here today- most notably Chevrolet Camaro's being made here at one point! Today much industry has been pulled out of town by technological advancements like online shopping which has made commuting to work or school much easier than ever before; howeverietal amenities have not disappeared completely- several small stores remain open along with a few restaurants serving breakfast/lunch daily until about 10 PM or so! Some notable examples include: C&H Camera & Electronics which opened back up after being closed for months due to new construction next door; Secondhand shop Don't Tell Mom where they sell used books/movies for 30% off any day during prime time; Flowers Unlimited - which offers garden plants all year round starting at $2 per pot! Finally, we must mention IMAX Cinemas- which are located adjacent to two other larger cinemas across town (one features an AMC release each week while another features independent movies!) making it easy to catch your favorite movie when you're outside playing fetch or doing something else fun!

On December 14, 1775, Congress created the Coast Guard as an emergency militia organization to help protect America’s coast from potential threats by enemy vessels and pirates. The Coast Guard has grown and changed over time, but its core mission remains the same: To provide coastal security by patrolling our waters and protecting our citizens. Today, the Coast Guard provides a wide range of services including search and rescue, coastal defense, maritime law enforcement, public safety, education and training. In addition to its traditional gifts such as food and supplies for troops on duty or devices for monitoring sea conditions, the Coast Guard has also given out many unique items over the years. Some examples include a life-saving inflatable raft known as an “ECO-LIFT” which was donated in 1941; a stuffed seal made from recycled fishing nets that was given to members of local communities in 1984; a model sailboat built with recycled materials in 1998; and a set of circa 18th century cannons that were donated in 2006. In recent decades, there have been several requests for new or unique gifts from members of the Coastguard community. One such request came in 2017 whenmembers asked for handbags made out of salvaged fishing nets. After much deliberation, NOAA decided not to pursue this project due to budgetary constraints. However, they did approve a request for a set of circa 18th century cannons that would be used at events like Marine Day celebrations or special occasions such as Memorial Day ceremonies.

Cedar Lake is a small village in Putnam County, Indiana, United States. The population was 539 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Terre Haute, IN Metropolitan Statistical Area. Cedar Lake was founded in 1836 by a group of men from what is now West Lafayette, Indiana as a stop on the Underground Railroad. Cedar Lake has been spelled "Cedar" since it first appeared on maps in 1837. The town site was laid out in 1836 by John Hargrave and James Laughlin, two of the original settlers of what is now Putnam County. The name Cedar was selected because it seemed to fit well with the surrounding woods and ridges. The first settler to arrive in Cedar Lake was George Washington Smith, who arrived May 15, 1836. Two weeks later Isaac Chamberlain arrived with his family and started trading goods with local farmers and Indians near present-day East Cairo Township. By fall of that year, over 20 settlers had moved into Cedar Lake from various parts of Indiana and Illinois
