The store became known as the Grosse Bodega (Large Store). In 1912, Wiegandt & Geißler sold their business to entrepreneur Julius Kuhnert who renamed it The Kuhnert Drug Company. Kuhnert continued to operate the store until his death in 1958. Through his ownership of The Kuhnert Drug Company, Julius Kuhnert established a reputation for quality roasted beans and shipped them throughout America. From 1938-1962, he also ran an operation called The Coffee House which served espresso drinks from small cups while located inside his business on First Street in downtown Bloomington. Since becoming closed down in 1962, only fragments of this historical building remain today. However, thanks to a donation by businessman Bob Hecht in 2003 and restoration work led by countyhistoric preservationist Dragan Češa later that year, parts of The Coffee House have been returned to their original condition including its impressive facade along with interior walls framing four floors ofHellenistic Revival architecture (1796-1864). This renovation marked not only an important milestone for the remainder of this property but also restored part of downtown’s architectural heritage which had languished since demolition began more than 50 years earlier! During World War I and World War II, Bloomington served as an Army training ground for soldiers from across America; much of the infrastructure still remains in use today. After V-E Day in 1945 – during which time many businesses closed due to Prohibition – downtown blossomed with bars and nightclubs serving American troops stationed there until their return home several months later (often not before being raided by local police). Bloomington experienced rapid growth starting around 1990 due to its location within commuting distance of Indianapolis and other major cities – even leading some to call it "the new Indianapolis". One such developer was Jesse Peebles who constructed hundreds of homes throughout downtown between 1995 and 2000 while also developing large tracts nearbloomfield mall..
