The Warrenville Navy Yard was founded in 1898 by Rear Admiral David Farragut. It became a military installation after the United States entered World War I in April 1917. The navy yard served as a training ground for American pilots and submarines, and produced some of the earliest jet fighters and bombers. After World War II, it became an ammunition storage and distribution center before being closed in 1984.
Warrenville is a town in Sangamon County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,872 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The first settler in Warrenville was James Hargrave, who arrived in 1827. The town was founded by Major John Tisdale on February 12, 1849 as a result of the land purchase from the Kankakee Nation. The name "Warren" came from John Warren's farm south of town. In 1871, Wm Hargrave donated land to Warrenville for a public school and then donated more land to make it an incorporated village. On October 3, 1903, the village merged with the towns of Plainfield and Argyle to form what is now known as Chicago Township (which included most of Cook County). In 1896–97 local farmers formed a cooperative called the Argyle- Plainfield Beet Farm Marketing Cooperative to marketing beets grown near Plainfield and Argyle. This cooperative remains one of Illinois' largest beet growers today and has been operating since 1907 when it was chartered as the Trust Company for Cooperatives at Plainfield and Argyle. In 1898–99 local farmers organized another cooperative calledthe American Beet Growers' Association which grew into modern day International beet trading company AGCO that still operates out of their original building on Western Avenue in downtown Warrenville! With over 40 years experience in this industry some would say that AGCO may hold more hereditary history than any other business entity in Illinois!

Both empires amassed large fleets of warships which they used to patrol their waters and conduct trade missions overseas. These fleets were eventually replaced by modern navies when those empires fell apart or lost power. During World War II, the Navy played an important role both offensively and defensively. It was responsible for launching huge numbers of bombers into enemy airspace, sinking numerous vessels, and deploying combat troops all over the globe. Navy personnel went on countless feats such as Operation Overlord, which led to Japan’s surrender at Hiroshima;Operation Neptune’s Spear, which resulted in Korea’s liberation from Japanese rule;andOperation Starlite, which helped US forces liberate Europe from Nazi Germany. After World War II ended, many warships were scrapped or converted into other purposes outside of warfare due to budgetary restrictions post-war (eighty percent of all warships built between 1945-1975 were not actually put into service). Warrenville is a small town in Orange County, Illinois, United States. The population was 2,753 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Warrenville was first settled in 1837 by John Cavanaugh and his family as a station on the Erie Canal. In 1840, Wm. Green built the first gristmill in Warrenville and began to grinding corn for local farmers. The mill was destroyed by fire in 1848 but rebuilt soon after. In 1861, John Fenton founded JF&J Insurance Company with his brother-in-law Isaac Geary. The company became one of the largest insurance companies in Illinois before it merged with American Life Insurance Company in 1970. In 1914, Warrenville Township was organized and named for General Nathan Bedford Forrest who fought in the American Civil War on behalf of Confederate forces. Forrest's statue stands outside of township hall. In 1937, Warrenvillians voted to annex their neighboring village of Highland Park which had been without an elected government since 1917 when its residents seceded from their large village Chicagoland Area Board (CHA). Highland Park's annexation led to some tension between the two villages but overall relations were good until 2004 when both villages adopted similar resolutions opposing term limits for their mayors and trustees effective June 1 that year following a vote by their respective Boards of Supervisors over whether or not to implement term limits; this resolution failed to receive enough signatures to be ratified by voters.[2] On July 15th, 2006 Douglas Lemmon became mayoralty subject to termlimits set forth therein following a ratification referendum held at that time which resulted in nearly all members of the Village Council swearing allegiance thereto prior to taking office;[3][4] this occurrence caused much social media outcry as many felt Douglas Lemmon should have been ineligible for office because he did not reside within Village boundaries at the time he took office despite being registered and voting continuously within Village limits during his four years as mayoralty;[5][6] however Douglas Lemmon disputes these claims stating that he resided within Village boundaries at all times while serving as mayoralty notwithstanding any absence from municipal elections due to hospitalization or other personal matters unrelated to service as Mayoralties
