The history of the Navy in Villa Park dates back to 1871. The first Naval Militia unit, called the "Volunteer Legion", was organized by Captain John S. Reynolds and staffed with men from Villa Park and other surrounding towns. On November 2, that year, a detachment of fourteen sailors from Villa Park under the command of Lieutenant George Purdy arrived at Rock Island Arsenal to partake in an eight-day drill supervised by Rear Admiral David Dixon. In 1872, Commodore John D. Stockton ordered the construction of a Naval Barracks on the site of present-day Illinois State University. The first residents of Villa Park were enlisted members of the Navy who made their home here until 1903 when they were replaced by civilians. Naval personnel garrisoned this area during World War I while our shores were defended by over 350 warships; however no military action occurred here during that conflict. After World War I ended, we again had ships stationed here but this time it was for only a few months before being sent away again for duty in Europe or America. This naval station remained in use through World War II until 1946 when it was closed due to budgetary reasons brought about by rapid technological changes within our military which placed great stress on existing facilities and budgets across all branches of our armed forces throughout America’s defense system; however, it is still occasionally referred to as “Villa Park Nukes” because some veterans may still maintain residual ties to this facility (e.g., attendance at various weddings and funerals). In 1949, President Harry Truman announced plans for construction at what is now known as Willow Run Arsenal near Detroit; however these plans never came to fruition because money ran out after just one year and two years later Congress passed a bill authorizing us to build another shipyard – this time at McCormick Place in Chicago – but once again congressional funds run short so this project also never got off the ground either! It wasn’t until 1991 when we finally received authorization from Congress once more to build yet another shipyard –this one located right next door atIllinois Maritime Terminal–and we are currently building USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 78) which will be dedicated on October 1st, 2020! Villa Park, Illinois is a town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 24,853 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The first European settlers in Villa Park were Dutch immigrants who founded a farm on what is now called Deerfield Road in 1792. In 1802, Englishman Joshua Hahn purchased land from the Dutch settlers and built a house on what is now Deerfield Road. He named his property "Villa Park" after his Italian family's Villa d'Este home near Turin, Italy. In 1854, Congress passed legislation creating an educational district for Cook County that included Villa Park. The site of today's Villa Park High School was chosen as it was then one of only two towns within the new district boundaries. That year, President James K. Polk authorized construction of what would become one of America's largest public schools - La Salle College (later La Salle University) was moved from its original location on Milwaukee Avenue in downtown Chicago to Villa Park byBG&B Railroad executives Charles Wickersham and George Pullenbaugh amid much protest from residents of nearby Maywood Junction where La Salle had been established since 1859. Throughout its history as an agricultural community and later as a small city with over 20 thousand residents, Villa Park has maintained close ties with its rural surroundings through strong agriculture sectors including dairy production; haystacks still be found throughout many parts of town; blacksmithing and other metalworking industries have long been dominant; while several smaller businesses continue to thrive such as Kipling Breadnuts & Coffee shop which opened in 1922; David Ladd Farms which markets fresh fruits & vegetables since 1946; Pima Air Cargo Inc., which operates passenger jets out of runway 5L at Chicago Midway Airport (now Chicago O'Hare International Airport) until recently; etc.. !VillagePark Old High School plaque

The first elections were held on October 12, 1836 and Daniel Boone won the election as county treasurer. On November 1, 1836, Villa Park became a town. By 1840, there were over 100 residents living in Villa Park. In 1861-1862, it was during this time that Major General Winfield Scott served as governor of Indiana and he recommended that Villa Park be made the permanent county seat of Hendricks County. On September 15th 1862, Hendricks County was created from parts of Crawford and Wayne counties and Villa Park became its new county seat. During World War II (1939-1945), many people from VillaPark servicemen fought in various wars including World War I (1914-1918) and World War II (1941-1945). After the war ended, many people decided to move back to Villpark or continue their lives in nearby towns such as Fort Wayne or Elkhart Lake when they retired from their job or quit their businesses. However some decided to stay in Villpark because they found happiness here and enjoyed all that it has to offer like shopping malls (), nightlife (), etc
The first Villa Park, Illinois post office was established in 1867. The town of Villa Park was incorporated in 1870 and the first school was built in 1871. The village of Villa Park was renamed as Crystal City in 1907.
