Finally we added wood burning ovens throughout the restaurant so that we could offer even more tantalizing aromas from our freshly roasted beans! All told this renovation saw significant updates & improvements that made our annexe both better than ever before! Nowadays – 6 years after opening -Starbucks Annexe continue’s being one of Swansea’s top tourist destinations thanks in large part to its renowned namesake Espresso beverages!!! With over 12 million cups served through its network combined (including over 7 million at home!), Starbucks annexe continues providing locals & tourists alike with great java experiences everyday!!!

Swansea is a small town located in southern Illinois. The population was 2,814 at the 2010 census. Swansea is the home of the Swansea-Clarksburg Independent School District, which serves students from pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. The village of Swansea was organized in 1848 as a result of the merger of two other villages, Clarksburg and Point Breeze. The name "Swansea" originated from a Welsh term meaning white sand beach. In 1870, there were only 27 residents in Swansea and it had a population of 154. Today, Swansea has a population of 1,521 with an approximate area of . The history of Swansea begins with three men who set out to plat out new land in 1847: James Wickersham, Reuben Hinkle and Lewis Lawler. They named their new community after Lord Swansea's estate at Clifton on the Potomac River in Virginia where they hoped to find gold deposits. When they failed to find gold but did find quartz veins, they continued to search for years before finally settling on what would become Swansea Township on June 10, 1850. The first post office was established in 1852 and by 1860 there were 281 residents living in Swansea Township. In 1861, the village board voted to change its name to "Swansea" after being recommended by local historian Drury Cranch during an address given at an agricultural exhibition held at nearby Carbondale Barracks that year (the event also served as the beginningof SwanSEA water treatment plant). At that time no one knew about Cardigan Bay just across the state line; when Captain John Browning discovered phosphate ore near Carbondale he named his discovery after Wales' most extensive seashore - "Swansea Bay". It wasn't until 1902 when chemist Julius Philipps announced he had found phosphatesample within reach of SwanSEA locks that villagers started importing phosphate rock from Carbon County because it was available there cheaper than elsewhere. Today more than 100 businesses operate along SwanSEA waterfront including seafood restaurants such as Joe's Crab Shack (closed since 2014)and MAXIMUS SEAFOOD & BARNSTaple store which opened its doors in 1986 adjacent to IHOP restaurant vacated by same chain soon afterwards due to increased competition from fast food chains like Wendy's and McDonalds alongwith loss of customers due to growth rates for other businesses such as Walmart and Target that ledto closure/merger with neighboring Kingman Village which itself closed several years later leaving just two remaining business entities: MAXIMUS SEAFOOD & BARNSTaple store and Joe's Crab Shack among others - both now open late night hours only! Swansea is a town in the U.S. state of Illinois, located on the La Salle River. Swansea was founded in 1836 by Welsh immigrants, and is the oldest continuously inhabited township in Illinois. The population was 5,362 at the 2010 census. Swansea is part of the Quad Cities area. The first settler in Swansea Township was Andrew Green, who arrived with his family from Wales in 1836. Green's father had also settled in Sangamon County, Illinois before moving to Swansea Township. Andrew Green died young at age 24 years old while surveying land for a new home for his family on November 11th, 1837. His wife Anna (née Smith) and their two children probably followed him to Swansea Township after he died but no record exists to support this claim; they may have been born there or may have moved permanently when their father died. In 1840, John Wesley Dulles established himself as a farmer and trader near present-day Bolton Landing on the La Salle River; he purchased property that would later become known as Swansea Village from Andrew Gaulding—the original white owner of what is now known as Swansea Creek (now called Raccoon Run). The early days of Swansea were very difficult due to lack of water supplies and transportation options available for settlers; however, good times soon followed with development of businesses and housing throughout the village including: The White House Tavern which operated until 1840; Agrarian Store opened by James Darling in 1846; David Troup’s Blacksmith Shop from 1850-1852 ; Mrs Henshaw’s Custom House built c 1830 served as Post Office until 1861 . In 1853–54 Samuel Morse painted “Agnus Dei” across four sides of a large barn on his farmstead off County Road M4 about five miles northeast ofpresent day Swansea Village . Morse donated this painting to Swedish Lutheran Church #1 (now First United Methodist Church) constructedin 1860 next door to his farmstead - one year after he invented America's first television system This event led to increased settlement activity around present day SwanSEAVillage and neighboring areas during that time period.; many farms became home to families over time including: Nevin & Sons tannery which operated until 1886; Hanna Bros grocery store from 1896-1910 ; Pritchard Plumbing Works from 1912-1914 ; Stanley Moore Electric Supply Co., Ltd./Moore Electric Products Co., Incorporated d/b/a Stanley Moore Radio Corp.(later Trust Company) building constructed c 1915 along side current day Presbyterian Church #2 located adjacent to former Nevin & Sons tannery where post office previously sat until it was demolished during World War II Some other notable businesses that operated at that time include: Jansen Hardware store which closed c 1901 after several decades operation;; Laughlin Chevrolet dealership operating ca 1902-1920;; George Tuttle blacksmith who originally did forge weapons for Ulysses S Grant & Abraham Lincoln;; Edward Maher general store traded goods such as flour, milk & candy until 1922 when it burned down.; Agnes Coulter ice cream parlor opened 1925............................... Today – December 1st 2020 – there still remains active farmland east of present day SwanSEAVillage along with some newer properties adjoining it providing water and energy access necessary for continuedvikingspace growth
