From 1957 to 1971, Summit Coffee Company operated as a drive-thru business. In 1971, the company closed its doors permanently. Summit is a small town in Sangamon County, Illinois, United States. The population was 527 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago–Naperville–Joliet Metropolitan Statistical Area. Summit is home to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, one of the largest universities in the Midwest and one of the five Ivy League schools. The first European settlement in what is now Summit was made on May 12, 1813 by John Hargrave and James Knoop when they arrived with 10 men from Holland on a ship called "Pioneer". They named their new town after Mount Rushmore National Monument which they had seen while travelling through South Dakota. The first post office was established in Summit on December 3, 1814 by Elijah Hicks with mail delivered twice a week from Joliet. In 1836, businessman Amos Kendall founded Kendall & Company which became one of the most successful corn merchants in Illinois. In 1865 he sold his interest in Kendall & Company to George Pullen who renamed it Pullen Bros., Incorporated (now part of Monsanto). By 1870, there were over 100 businesses operating in Summit including sixty-eight grain warehouses and eleven blacksmith shops accounting for two-thirds of all manufacturing activity within Sangamon County during that time frame! On January 1, 1904 Summit's brewery opened as Oneida Brewing Company Ltd., operating until 1971 when it merged into Adirondack Brewing Corporation (ABCo) becoming one of America's leading craft brewers. ABCo soon became known for its flagship brands such as Cascade and Blue Moon beer but also produced popular regional beers like White Claw and New Glarus Tandem ale. In 1995 ABCo merged with Anheuser Busch Brewery to form Anheuser-Busch InBev NV making Summit both an American craft brewer AND an international player! A native son - Forrest Curry - played football at UIUC where he helped leadUIUC to victory over then No. 2 Ohio State 41-7 on October 20th 1967 before being drafted by NFL team Green Bay Packers with the No.-2 pick overall...the famous '47' squad went on to win Super Bowl XLVIII 34-10 against Vince Lombardi’s Dallas Cowboys ...........Curry would go onto play for some other teams before retiring after playing 9 seasons with Green Bay.......Forrest Curry holds several UIUC records including Most touchdown receptions (57), rushing yards (3,487), pass receptions (111), punt return yards (992)......He also holds career highs for receiving touchdowns (41), kickoff returns(16), punt returns(4).........FUBIQUE HALL OF FAME Inductee

Coffee quickly grew in popularity throughout the medieval world because it was affordable and easy enough for most people to get their hands on. Eventually, traders began moving coffee around the world based on their interests or needs - with different regions enjoying different types of beans from different parts of the Earth. As coffee became increasingly popular across different areas of the globe, so too did its price tag - which helped contribute to its current status as one of the most expensive drinks available on Earth (and likely also one of the most durable). Thanks largely to advancements in processing methods over the years - including but not limited to pressing plants close to human bodies -gourmet coffee now comes in all shapes and sizes!

In Summit, Illinois, on the banks of the Mississippi River, in 1831, a group of businessmen and farmers gathered to create what would become known as the Summit Association. The group was founded to promote trade and commerce between Illinois and Missouri. The first meeting was held at a log cabin on the bluff overlooking the river. The men who gathered there decided that they needed a more formal organization to carry out their goals. They called themselves "The United States of America." The first state constitution was ratified in Summit on November 3, 1831. On December 15th, 1832, the name for Illinois was changed from "Missouri" to "Illinois". In 1837, President James K. Polk signed legislation giving land east of the Mississippi River to be given to Illinois as part of her territory acquired from Mexico. This land became known as Parkland County. In 1850, Abraham Lincoln was elected president and he made Parkland County a part of his new state of Illinois. That same year, Chicago was founded by Irish immigrants who had come overlanders in search of opportunity and wealth in this new country. After years of hard work and struggle, Chicago became one of the most important cities in America because it functioned as an economic powerhouse during both World Wars I and II. Parkland County continued its progress until after World War II when it experienced some major changes due to population growth and farming practices which have left muchofthe county unchanged today
