After years of use by American Airlines, the Constellation was retired from service in 1977 and placed into storage at Canadian Forces Base Trenton, Ontario until it was reactivated as part of Canadian Forces Air Command's (CFAC) markings program in 1996. The 10th Bombardment Wing (Wings) assigned to Pope AFB located in St. Charles County flew its first mission after activation on October 25th 1945 when three P-51D Mustangs were acquired from Northrop Aviation under a buy order from Strategic Services Unit 6 (SSU 6). These planes were used during World War II as trainers for III Bomber Command crews before being moved to RAF Thorney Island near London England where they served untilactivated on May 1st 1946 due to budget cuts within SSU 6 which also eliminated many fighter jet programs within America that summer including NATO's "Eagle" project which would later result in America's participation inthe war against Yugoslavia). Today there are over 50 legacy Mustang aircraft still existent across both USAF bases Pope AFB & Trenton AFB worldwide!

St. Charles is an incorporated town in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 12,811 at the 2010 census. As of the 2010 census, its racial makeup was 96% white European American and 4% black. Founded by French Canadian fur traders in 1763, St. Charles grew rapidly as a result of its location on the main transportation route between Chicago and other Midwest cities. In 1847, St. Charles became part of the newly formed Kane County. The town's rapid growth resulted in much development of churches and schools; many homes were built between 1860 and 1870 during the "Gilded Age" era when Chicago became one of America's most powerful economic forces. In 1892, St.Charles merged with neighboring towns of Mokena and Park Ridge to form what is today known as Aurora Township (the name given to it by General John Pershing because he thought that Aurora would become a more permanent community). Aurora Township took on many of the same characteristics as St.Charles - rapid growth, church/school construction, wealth creation - but also experienced some racism which still exists throughout Kane County today: for example, white farmers controlled most land until after World War II while black residents continued to live in poverty and lack voting rights until after 1960s civil rights movements%. Today St.Charles forms a small part of northwestern Kane County but remains an important cultural center with its own police department (established in 1907), library (opened in 1904), post office (founded 1865), and several restaurants/bars popular among locals and visitors alike including local favorite Pappa John's Pizza & Pasta ($27 for two large pizzas).

The history of St. Charles, Illinois begins with the arrival of European settlers in the area in the late 18th century. The first white settlement in what is now St. Charles was established on a small island near modern-day Chicago by French fur traders in 1786. By 1800, there were over 30 European families living on Saint Charles Island, which is now part of the city of Chicago. In 1818, Indian chief Black Hawk offered to sell land to Illinoisans for $10 per acre ($2,600 today). When President James K. Polk took office in 1846, he decided that Illinois should be admitted as a state only if it had an area equal to that of Indiana and Missouri combined (the current boundaries of Illinois). As a result, Polk designated SaintCharles Island as the site for the new state capital – Springfield – and purchased all of present-day St. Charles County from Native Americans for $130 per acre ($4 million today). St.Charles Island received its name from Bishop George Augustus Consecrated at St.Charles Cathedral on May 9, 1827; during his consecration sermon, he called it “this beautiful andCIOUS little island” because it was so isolated from other settlements. In 1840–41, Father Gabriel Dailey built a chapel and school on Saint Catherine’s Hill opposite what is now City Hall Park; within 10 years he had also constructed a two-story brick church and two miles long cemetery following Catholic tradition until then limited to Irish Catholics living along Lake Michigan shoreline outside Chicago proper (figure 1). In 1809, the Illinois General Assembly passed a bill to grant land to the town of St. Charles on the east bank of the Mississippi River. The first settler in what is now St.Charles was James Kapp, who arrived in 1795. In 1809, Pierre Charles LEnfant designed and created the city of St.Charles as a settlement on his plan for a new capital of Illinois. The city was named after Saint Charles Borromeo, an Italian Catholic missionary who visited Illinois in 1788.
