As part as an escort for President James Kappes when he sailed from New York to England in February 17, 1800, she escorted him back home after he had been impeached by Congress and removed from office. On May 15th, 1800 she was docked at Norfolk Naval Shipyard for repairs after derailment near Cape May Key; however her master allowed her to proceed under tow due to concerns that her condition might not allow her return before winter could arrive. On October 6th she arrived at Philadelphia following a voyage around Cape Horn which averaged over 33 days long; this made her one of only five American warships ever to circumnavigate Africa without being lost or damaged along the way

The name Schaumburg comes from German and means "bridge over the stream." The first people to live in Schaumburg were farmers who arrived in the early 1800s. By 1871, there were about 20 businesses and 300 residents. The railroad came through Schaumburg in 1892 and made it easier for people to get to work. The first bank in Schaumburga opened in 1899. In 1907, Schaumburga had a park and a library. In 1912, the town hall was built and serves as today's municipal building. In 1916, Schaumburga became part of Cook County when it was created from parts of Chicago and Rockford counties. After World War I ended, many businesses closed because of money problems. However, new businesses started up soon after that and by 1927 there were more than 100 businesses in Schaumburga. During World War II, Shaumberg had an production plant for making ammunition for the military which produced thousands of jobs for local people. After the war ended, many factories closed down but new ones started up all around Illinois because of economic growth during postwar times. Today, Schaumburg is a small town with few if any stores or services available outside its own borders- most residents rely on agriculture or other small-scale industries to make their lives difficult enough that they can still call themselves Americans even though much has changed since those days back home (e.g., Interstate 94). Nonetheless though this may be true anecdotally at best given how little interaction one typically experiences within their own community outside normalcy (meaning say anything posted on social media), it offers interesting perspective into howicagoans view themselves both internally AND externally vis-a-vis whatcha-mahing outsider observers would perceive as some pretty big changes going on elsewhere...
