Round Lake Beach is a small town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. It is located on the Eastern Shore of the Chicago River. The population was 2,613 at the 2010 census. The first coffee shop in Round Lake Beach was opened by James Wirtz in 1912 and it was known as the "Coffee House." In 1924, Harry Sager opened his first store in Round Lake Beach and it became known as the "Sager's." In 1941, Johnnie Cochran opened his first convenience store in Round Lake Beach and it became known as the "Cochran's." In 1951, Harold McGee open his first restaurant called ""McGee's"" which later became known as McGee's Restaurant & Lounge. In 1976, Don Durkin opened his first restaurant called ""Durkin's."" In 1984, Larry Krasnowopened his first Italian-style restaurant called ""Krasnow's Italian Garden"" which later became known as ""L’Atelier."" In 1995, Rick Baylessopened his first steakhouse called ""Rick Bayless' Steakhouse."" The most recent addition to this list is Frank Sinatra’s homecoming party spot inside of Joe’s Pub & Grille which reopened on July 23rd after being closed for over two years due to renovation projects.
Round Lake Beach is a small town in Hancock County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,890 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The name Round Lake Beach comes from a stream that flows through the community. Round Lake Boulevard runs through the center of town and is known for its wide shoulders and popular bicycling and kayaking trails. Lake Michigan forms one half of Round Lake Beach's borders with Hancock County to the south and west, while Wheeler Township to the north-west lies within Cook County. According to the 2010 census, Round Lake Beach has a total area of , of which (or 98%) is land and (or 2%) is water. The remainder includes several parcels that are zoned as industrial areas: much of it along clarify creek which feeds into Big Sioux River; some development on both sides of Clear Creek between Ulysses Road and US Hwy 20; an industrial park on both sides of US Hwy 20 east of US Hwy 41; a large open space near US Hwys 41 & Wacker Drive; and a few small tracts on each side of Clear Creek Valley Rd., including one parcel reserved for agricultural use next to village limits

These changes have resulted in a variety of unique coffees being enjoyed by consumers around the world.

Round Lake Beach is located in Macoupin County, Illinois and was founded on the banks of the Rock River. The town was originally called Maycomb, after a farmstead that once stood there. Round Lake Boulevard was developed in the early 1900s as a commercial artery connecting the local villages. The name Round Lake Beach comes from nearby Round Lake. The first white settlers arrived in what is now Round Lake Beach in 1837. They were part of a wagon train led by John Jacob Astor and his brother Adam. At first they hunted game near present-day Maycomb and built log cabins for themselves on the hill overlooking the Rock River. In 1840, William McIntosh settled at what is now Round Lake Boulevard, becoming one of its earliest residents. By 1845, all of Macoupin County had been organized into townships and Maycomb became one of them. In 1847, John Morton purchased 5 acres at what is now round lake beach from Andrew Williamson for $100 cash only - this was an early indication that land transactions would be important to Early American farmers. Morton's purchase signaled the beginning of a long relationship between him and local villagers who would rely on him for their subsistence needs until he sold out to railroads in 1911. By 1870, over 50% of all grain production took place along Rock River north of Chicago; due to these opportunities, many people decided to settle around round lake beach where access to fresh water made it an attractive location for agriculture and industry alike." Due to rapid growth during World War II (1939-1945), round lake Blvd became known as "the most heavily traveled street in America". Many businesses such as movie theatersand shopping malls sprang up throughout the postwar period because easy access to transportation made it possible for people to commute into Chicagoland with ease." Today round lake beach remains an agricultural community with small businesses dotting its streetside communities while defense contractor Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp., manufacturer of Northrop Grumman tactical aircraft products has facilities located adjacent to both FAA airport/roundlake Blvd & Naval Surface Warfare Center Whiting Field which opened Sep 25th 2009
The first known permanent settlers in Round Lake Beach were Indian traders who came to the area in the early 1800s. In 1819, a group of American soldiers under General Anthony Wayne landed onRound Lake Beach and founded the town of Ford City. The town was named after Francis Ford Coppola, an American explorer and soldier who had explored the Illinois Country in 1814.
