The United States Air Force has been deployed in support of various missions throughout the world for more than 50 years. The gift history of the USAF can be traced back to December 1, 1947 when General Curtis LeMay became Commander-in-Chief, Air Forces. His directive was to establish a gifts program that would perpetuate the lineage and memory of America's air force. In accordance with this directive, Headquarters Air Forces created the First Special Purpose Command (1 SPC) which was charged with gifting items necessary for operational training of American aviators. 1 SPC also donated aircraft and equipment used in special operations forces raids against enemy targets around the world. This activity led to creation of later commands such as Headquarters Specialty Operations Command (HSOC) and Headquarters Flying Training Command (HFTC). Since its inception, 1 SPC has given over 12 million troops and civilians items needed for operational training including aircraft, missiles, clothing, tools, vehicles and much more. Today 1 SPC continues its legacy by providing unique gifts that are essential for members of the military community both in Global War on Terror mode as well as peacetime situations across all branches Of The Armed Forces. One example from last year is the donation of 3 F-16 Fighting Falcons painted in vibrant colors to commemorate Operation Blue Jay during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. These Falcons will fly liveries supporting Operation Blue Jay from October 25th through November 2nd in order to help raise awareness about breast cancer and how it affects women worldwide!

In 1990, Sgt. 1st Class Gregorio Sanchez gave a set of new golf clubs to Airman First Class John Kosinski after watching him play in a local tournament. In 2006, Staff Sgt. Jarad Pfeiffer gifted a Humvee to Airman 1st Class Micah Johnson following his service in Afghanistan and injuries he sustained there

The name "Rolling Meadows" originated from an English word meaning "a rolling tumulus." This word was brought over by pioneers when they came to this area in the mid-19th century. Rolling Meadows is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. As of the 2010 census, the village had a population of 137 people. The village was first settled in 1836 by German immigrants and was incorporated as a town on November 3, 1866. It was renamed Rolling Meadows on July 1, 1951. The Village had its start when an early settler named Jacob Engelbold erected a log cabin on the present site of Rollestone Road in 1836. A year later he built another cabin and named it "Rolling Meadows." For many years this name prevailed over that of nearby Maywood because Rolling Meadows lay within Maywood's municipal limits at the time itôthe Town became organized on November 3, 1866. When annexation by Chicago became apparent in 1912, Mayor John Hynes appointed Jens Soderholm to study ways to incorporate Rolling Meadows into the city proper without giving away land east of Lake Michigan for development near Halsted Street and Wacker Drive. Although initial plans called for incorporation with Maywood as well as North Side (now Rogers Park), South Side (now Englewood) and West Side (now Lawndale), East Side finally received consideration due to its proximity to water and its potential for industrial growth which would have resulted from closer merger with other villages within Chicago's boundaries like Racine or Wheaton Heights. After much deliberation and amendment of proposed articles to reflect community preferences including zoning changes that would have allowed Roller Mills along Milwaukee Avenue between State Street and just north of Harlem Street; Roller Mills residents successfully lobbied their neighboring Villagers to annex them instead creating what is now known as Park Ridge –Rolling Meadows Township –Racine County -Cook County boundary! In effect being surrounded by municipalities but still considered part of Chicago! Although annexed by Cook County, Rolling Meadows retains vestigial autonomy retained until today including choosing its own mayor who is also elected at-large rather than via party affiliation since 1907 when party affiliations were eliminated from Municipal Elections Ordinance No 2131 effective January 1st following enactment of then Statewide Voter Registration Act which prohibited any municipality from adopting any formaldehyde regulations annexation might conflict with such laws enacted elsewhere in state government thus allowing voting blocs similar to those achieved during Prohibition era despite repeal efforts which included recall proceedings against then Mayor George Romney after he made public comments critical of then President Franklin D Roosevelt’s New Deal policies; although ultimately unsuccessful
