Riverdale is a town in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 11,844 at the 2010 census. Riverdale is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. It was founded in 1871 as a small community on the north side of the Chicago River. In 1919, it became a city and has since grown to include several adjacent townships and villages. The first coffee shops opened in Riverdale in the early 1800s. At that time, coffee beans were brought overland from Mexico by traders and travelers. Coffee was available only for sale to those who could afford to purchase it expensively. In 1837, John Taylor established the Taylor Coffee House on State Street in Riverdale. He served as its owner and operator until his death in 1854. The first espresso machine was built at this site by Giovanni Battista Piazza in 1859 according to local history books and museum exhibits dating back to that era. In 1865, John Gage began brewing coffee at his house on North Avenue nearpresent-day Logan Square Park (now known as Grant Park). Gage's coffee shop operated until 1886 when he sold it to James Rafferty Sr., who renamed it "The Star". In 1895, Rafferty's son James Rafferty Jr., bought out his father's share of the business and continued running it under his own name until 1912 when he merged with George Peet’s Coffee Company to form what is now Peet’s Coffee & Tea Company (now Starbucks). That year also markedthe opening of The Velvet Lounge which later became known as "Riverside Café". After World War II ended, many people left Riverdale for jobs elsewhere or moved away altogether because of competition fromiller Chicago mills such as Jiffy Lube Co.'s Joliet Mills and Armour Paper Products' Cook County Plant No.#1; these industries had caused significant declinesin riverdale's population since 1900 despite corresponding increasesin manufacturing elsewhere in Kane County (see Demographics section below). However, some new businesses slowly started up during this time including Manor Lawn Mowing Service Incorporated which became active around 1975; then followed other small businesses such as Artisan Bakery Incorporated that started up throughout the late 1970s into the 1980s before eventually being replaced by larger commercial kitchens due to changing consumer tastes; finally there were some remaining residents who decideto stay but joined others within Kane County during this time period when suburban growth resumed
Riverdale is a small town in Cook County, Illinois. It is located in the southcentral portion of the Chicago metropolitan area and comprises just under 2 square miles (5 km2). The population was 26,752 at the 2010 census. Riverdale is one of the most ethnically diverse towns in Illinois and has a wide variety of cultural activities and events to attend. The town's name comes from a creek that runs through it. The first settlers in Riverdale were farmers who moved from rural Pennsylvania during the late 1800s. By 1900, many of these same farmers had set up homes in what is now Riverdale after purchasing land from Land Company officials. In 1912, when voters approved a charter for Riverdale Township, it was the only township in Cook County with more than 10 residents. In 1951, construction began on what would become Riverdale Elementary School; this school would remain an important part of the community until its closure in 2001. In recent years, riverboat trips have become popular among residents of Riverdale as an exciting way to spend some time outside while still enjoying all that rivertown has to offer. These trips can include stops at various businesses along the banks of the Illiniwek Creek such as Pabst Brewing Company and Quiznos Sub shop before continuing downstream to Crystal Lake or even further downriver for swimming and fishing opportunities!

The disease that caused a blight on the crop in 1810 caused Afghanistan, Iran and Turkey to become the leading suppliers of coffee to Europe. In 1855CB, Spanish missionaries discovered coffee beans growing near Bogotá, Colombia and began exporting them.
Riverdale is a small town in northern Illinois, United States. The population was 9,500 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Riverdale is one of the oldest American towns, dating back to 1795. The name "RIVERDALE" comes from the Mischkal River that flows through it. The first settler in Riverdale was Christopher Johnson, who arrived in 1795. He named his land "RIVERDALE." In 1847, another pioneer, Isaac Lyon, founded a hotel and store on the east side of Main Street near present day Worth Place. Lyon also donated land for a public school and playground on what is now Elm Street. In 1865, John Sappington bought some land from Lyon for $10 000 and laid out a town grid on it which still exists today- including Elm Street bisecting Main and Worth Streets (now Archer Road). By 1870, Sappington had built his own courthouse and jail; he also donated 30 acres (12 hectares) north of Main to become an agricultural colony known as "Sappington's Prairie". In 1871–72 Robert Stephenson built cars running on rails along Watertown Road between Sappington's Prairie and Riverdale so that farmers could bring their products to market directly without having to go through Chicago or other markets. This transportation revolution started the longest continuously operating commercial enterprise in America- until 1971 when truck driving became more prevalent
