People started buying land upriver to create neighborhoods like Prospect Park and Hyde Park. By 1920, there were over 500 people living in River Forest! Today, many of the businesses that once existed here have disappeared or been moved away but the spirit of river forest will always be alive! There are still plenty of green spaces to enjoy as well as memories made here – whether it’s spending time at one of the many ponds or playing games on one of the many golf courses dotting this beautiful townscape!
