Richton Park is a small town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 7,811 at the 2010 census. The village of Richton Park was incorporated on December 15, 1907. It became a city on July 1, 1974. On November 2, 1990, the city merged with neighboring Elmhurst to form the largest municipality in Cook County by area and population. The community of Richton Park is located in northwestern Cook County and is bordered by Elmhurst to the east and north; Mount Prospect to the west; and Oak Lawn to the south. It is nestled within a rolling hillsock landscape that forms much of its boundaries. From north to south it begins at an altitude of about 480 feet (152 meters), dips beneath Lake Michigan downgradient from about 150 feet (45 meters) above mean sea level before rising again for about 5 miles (8 kilometers) until it reaches an elevation of 675 feet (199 meters). North-south streets run generally straight while east-west streets intersect only rarely or at marked intersections; most bends are caused by natural curves in the terrain which make hiking difficult or impossible without special equipment or directions from locals. According to the 2010 census, 7,811 people lived in Richton Park—a decrease of 1% from 8,026 counted in 2000 but an increase of 2% since 2007 when 7,743 people lived there. Hispanic/Latino residents made up 9% of all residents as against 8%. African American residents make up 3%, Asian Pacific Islanders 10%, whites 20%, and other races 16%. As with many large U.S cities during this time period – such as Chicago – race changed little over time as suburban growth continues unabated throughout much of Illinois outside Chicago’s metropolitan area despite recent efforts by Mayor Rahm Emanuel to address crime rates specifically within that jurisdiction – something that has yet to materialize in Richton Park despite promises by current Mayor Adam Renderman and City Councilmember Jesus Grijalva Accordingly real estate prices reflect very different neighborhoods among those living within radius around any given stoplight: In Wicker Park near Halsted Street services Stop & Shop open 24 hours seven days a week allowing for easy access just minutes away allows for reasonably priced housing prices well below what one would find downtown Petrie Blvd barely offers anything more than single family homes with driveways out back providing limited parking options especially if you have children let alone groceries nearby anymore unless you take public transportation which can be quite expensive

Richton Park is a large and popular city in the Chicago metropolitan area, located in Cook County, Illinois. The population was estimated to be over 100,000 as of 2006. It is the home of Northwestern University and many other high-profile institutions. The site of Richton Park was first settled by Germans in 1847. In 1868, the incorporated town of Richton PARK was created from parts of the towns of Deerfield and Mokena. By 1902, both Deerfield and Mokena had been annexed by Richton PARK. Richton Park became an important node on the Chicago River system during its early years. The first step led to its growth when it was decided that a navigable body on the river would make navigation more profitable for Chicago merchants shipping goods upriver from their factories in Michigan. This opened up new land for settlement and commerce at what is now Richton Park. In 1872, a canal was built linking the Chicago River with Lake Michigan through this area which made transportation much easier for businesses and residents alike. Today, you can still see evidence of this Canal including several locks that remain today! The canal also facilitated trade with Canada which allowedChicago residents to buy goods they couldn’t get anywhere else without leaving their homes! At one time or another every major north-south street in downtown Chicagoland runs through or near either Deerfield or Mokena Parks! Some examples include State Street (now Waterman Road), Clark Street (now Randolph Road), Third Avenue (now Fullerton Avenue), Archer Avenue (now Irving Place), Van Buren Street (now Worth Avenue) etc.. In 1907, after almost 50 years of continuous civic progress within Richton Park boundaries we welcomed our newest resident; Drs John Hargrave & Edwin Cady! Overcoming difficult challenges we have grown into one of Chicagoland’s most vibrant communities – cultural landmarks like Northwestern University are well known around the world while rich traditions such as German music week continue unchanged here each year since 1898!Today there are approx 60K people living here making it one big family!!!
