Since the beginning of the 20th century, the United States Air Force has been one of America's most important and versatile organizations. The next year saw another significant AFB donation when Rear Admiral Franklin K. Dyer donated alectric motorboat named "PDQ" (PeakDragQueen) which he had also donated to the Navy during World War I! This boat was used by Naval pilots practicing speed limits and interception techniques while flying their seaplanes during carrier operations off the coast of California! In 1927, Rear Admiral George Cushing gave an AF floatplane hangar/drome on his island in Beaufort Harbor – now known as CFB Jacksonville – to Marine Corps Commandant General Harry Averell! This hangar served as headquarters for Marine aviation units responsible for amphibious operations against Japanese targets throughout North America! The first AF Helicopter unit was activated at Elmendorf AFB in Alaska on December 1st 1947!! With this new technology came new challenges which were met with ingenuity and innovation! One such project was the development of the "Hercules" helicopter by McDonnell Douglas Corporation!! These helicopters became synonymous withAF combat power during Operation Desert Storm!! After more than 50 years of service, Headquarters USAF gifted an American-made aircraft system – dubbed "the H-1A," nicknamed after then Majestic Commander Sonny Liston –to RAF No. 9 Squadron at RAF Broughton Heath on October 15th 2006 !! This aircraft system replaced two British-built Hawk Mk41s that were operated by No Jastro Fairsports Ltd., later known as Skyhawk Aviation Ltd., from 1997 until its closure in 2003…….. [ MORE ]

Rantoul is a town in McLean County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,814 at the 2010 census. It covers an area of 362 acres (153 ha). The first settler in Rantoul was John Bell who arrived in 1818. He raised corn and wheat and built a log cabin on the hill now known as Bell's Hill. A post office called Rantoul was established in 1826, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1893. In 1841, General David Legree founded the village of Leavenworth on the east side of what is now Rantoul Township. The community grew rapidly due to its location adjacent to DuPage County and its access to markets for goods transported by wagon overland from Chicago. By 1850, Leavenworth had a store, blacksmith shop, schoolhouse and two churches. In 1851, Rantoul became part of McLean County when it was formed from parts of Illinois and Iowa Territory. In 1861, the county seat moved from Leavenworth to Pekin due to political changes within Mclean County caused by the American Civil War which had begun two years earlier. On July 4th 1865 Union General William Tecumseh Sherman burned down all but one building inLeavenworth after raiding nearby towns during his march through Illinois looking for supplies for his army besieging Richmond; this event is commemorated annually by "Sherman's Raid Day" festivities throughout Mclean County each year since then! With that burning down of one small town came organized efforts among local farmers to rebuild following Reconstruction with such projects as creating new roads and bridges across streams so people could get food products back into their homes again- something that has continued up until the present day! In addition thereto many businesses were rebuilt or re-opened including several banks which still operate today! Rantoullians have always been very friendly towards outsiders - even today there are numerous roadside attractions located throughout both town limits & surrounding rural areas specifically designed for tourists (& locals!) giving you plenty opportunity for photo ops & interactions! Rantoul is a small town in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,876 at the 2010 census. The name "Rantoul" is French for "haunted place". The first settlers in what is now Rantoul were Quakers who arrived from Pennsylvania in 1795. They built a gristmill and a millstream on the banks of the Kankakee River. When the railroad came through Rantoul in 1853, many farmers took up farming here because it was closer to Chicago than any other place in Kane County. By 1860, however, most of the downtown had been destroyed by fire and development had begun; new businesses cropped up such as a garage and grocery store. In 1886, cable cars arrived to take freight to Chicago from Rantoul's two railroads (the Illinois Central Railroad and the Great Western Railway). This made Rantoul more developed than it ever had been before, which caused some people to leave for better opportunities back home. In 1915-16 when World War I started, many men left their jobs to fight overseas; some lived in tents on family farmsteads while others worked at local mills or factories until they could return home again. During World War II there were also lots of people who left their jobs due to wartime service: many women went into munitions production or agriculture (canned fruit) after Pearl Harbor; men went into military service or technical work during peacetime periods too (such as construction). Today there are still few residents living Downtown compared with years ago although there are new businesses that have sprung up along Kankakee Street including several restaurants/bars and an agricultural dealership providing supplies for local farmers markets
