In 1904, he donated $5,000 to establish Pontiac College which would become one of America's leading universities. Today, Pontiac College is one of America's most respected community colleges with campuses located in Chicago and Detroit. Pontiac is a city in Du Page County, Illinois, United States. The population was 926 at the 2010 census. Pontiac is one of the oldest cities in DuPage County and has been inhabited since 1824. It was named for General George Washington's army general and friend, Major Pierre Charles Le Moyne, who had settlements here in 1799 and 1800. Pontiac is located on the Mississippi River at its confluence with the Illinois River south of Chicago. The first Europeans to visit what is now Pontiac were French traders in the late 17th century who traded fur and other goods with Native Americans living along the river. In 1824, General Anthony Wayne founded Detroit on the north bank of the river east of present-day Pontiac; by 1830 Detroit had become America's largest slave market. The area around where Pontiac now stands was once home to more than 300 Indian villages that supported millions of mosquitoes that caused yellow fever during a time when there was no effective vaccine available for this disease. In 1831, General James Kiska used his military power to drive out all but a small number of these hostile natives from what is now eastern DuPage County. By 1840, most of Kiska's original land lay within modern-day Pontiac boundaries. In 1837 local farmers destroyed a bridge over the Mississippi River near present-day Jacksonville which made it necessary for travelers between Nashville and St Louis to use an alternative route through Indiana instead (the "Jacksonville Bridge Road"). This led to development by farmers along what would become known as Old Route 66 which crossed under I-55 near present-day McHenry Court House before reaching downtown St Louis. During this time period many heavy industries such as steel making were established in central Illinois including those surrounding today's Pontiac Blvd., Mound Valley Rd., Midlothian Rd., Northland Ave., East Peoria Rd., White Stockings Dr./Kirkwood Dr./Fenton Dr./Gowanda Dr.) The great depression hit central Illinois hard during 1933–1934 with prices for food dropping 50%, oil prices falling 50%, stock markets crashing, unemployment soaring above 20% (!), factories closes etc... Many people left central IL for good during these difficult times but some kept their businesses going thanks to innovative thinking like Artie Potts who started his own pottery factory outside Jackson Heights (now part of Chicago). It didn't stop there either! A few years later Potts opened up his second factory producing radios and TVs using surplus WWII materials he could find lying around town while others took off like Soo Calumet Airlines starting out as a tiny business delivering tools and parts needed by other companies then building their own planes/airport using donated runway space & parts from other companies they acquired... You get my point! Afterall it wasn't all doom & gloom though! Some amazing things happened during those tough times such as President Harry S Truman coming thru town one day after flying across country on his presidential airplane(I'm not making this up!) To show support for all those impacted by prohibition being repealed!! All hail Harry S!!!

This country was home to some of the first commercial roasters of ground coffee. These processors would roast their beans using various methods and techniques until they were perfected by Johannes Süssmayr in 1852. At this point, there were two main types of roasts - Austrian and French Roasts. Austrian Roasts were darker while French Roasts were lighter in coloration and had a sweeter flavor profile than Austrian Roasts. As time passed, different countries started importing German-made roasted coffee beans which resulted in increased competition for market share between these two manufacturers. As per regulations at the time, only those Beans that met certain quality standards could be exported out of Germany so Swiss Coffee became one of the first companies to enter into international trade with Vienna during this period (1897). In 1912, Swiss Coffee merged with other European Coffee conglomerates forming what is now known as Keurig International Incorporated (KII). KII continued production under multiple management before being acquired by Nestle AG in 2002 who continue its production today under their own name CASA Exportadora de Café Cola SA (CasaExport).

Pontiac was a small, unincorporated community in Calumet County, Illinois, located on the north bank of the Chicago River. It was founded in 1859 by farmers from Michigan and Indiana who had come to agricultural pursuits in the area. The community quickly grew to be a popular staging point for goods moving down the river between Chicago and Joliet. In 1886, Pontiac became one of the first towns in Illinois to be incorporated as a village. Pontiac's growth continued through World War II when it became an important military base for the United States Army during the war years. After the war, Pontiac experienced modest growth until suburbanization began to take hold in nearby suburbs, removing many of its residents from their homes and destroying most of its commercial establishments. In 1987, Pontiac was merged into neighbouring Rockford with noobjection from either side of the river.
The Pontiac, Illinois Manufacturing Company was founded in 1892 by five brothers. The company manufactured cars and trucks, as well as a variety of other products. The company grew rapidly over the years, eventually becoming one of the largest in the area. In 1963, the company merged with General Motors Corporation.
