Plainfield, Illinois is a town in the Northwestern United States. The population was 31,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1836 by Daniel Webster and his brother-in-law, Elijah White. The first post office in Plainfield was opened in 1839. In 1851, Plainfield became a city when it annexed the neighboring towns of Arlington and Park Ridge. The city limits were expanded to include present-day Crystal Lake and parts of neighbouring South Holland Township in 1902. The downtown district of Plainfield has been renovated several times since its original construction in 1914, with most recent updates taking place between 2009 and 2013. A large new plaza located near the intersection of North Street and West Avenue serves as an outdoor shopping mall for businesses within Plainfield's boundaries as well as for residents who work within or visit nearby Cook County suburbs such as Evanston, Lincolnwood, Orland Hills and Skokie. Lake Shore Drive runs through PlainFIELD from north to south while State Street forms an east–west axis running parallel to the lake shoreline with numerous small retail stores lining both streetsides; many restaurants are situated near one end or another of this busy corridor while some larger businesses occupy two entire blocks along State Street (north side). There has been coffee production in the Maga area for over a thousand years. The first evidence of coffee beans being roasted and ground is from the 6th century BC. In the early 1800s, coffee beans were grown in traditional ways on small farms near present-day Zamboanga City. Coffee was traded between different regions and cultures, but it wasn’t until the late 1800s that coffee started to be exported to Europe. In 1901, Dutchman Hendrik van den Bergh came to Mindanao with his family and began growing coffee in what is now Zamboanga City. He set up a small farm where he roast and grinded his own beans. This event marked an important change for Indonesia because it was then that Netherlands became the first country to import Grade A coffees from Java. Indonesian traders soon learned about this new industry and began importing grade A coffees from other parts of Asia as well. At this point, there were two major types of coffee: Arabica and Robusta. Arabica beans are more expensive than Robustas, but they have a fuller flavor profile; while Robusta beans arearser-textured and have a stronger flavor profile. By 1907, Dutchman Joris van der Rohe had founded Koffiehuis (“coffee house”) in Jakarta which became one of the leading exporters of Java-grown coffee into Europe. At this point, Dutch Coffee cultivation spread throughout Indonesia as well as into Southeast Asia; thus originating much of the world's pattern today of roasting/ground coffees being exported from particular regions (Africa or South America) followed by local consumption within those regions (Europe or North America). The Portuguese colonized Mindanao beginning in 1565 AD; however, their control did not last long due to fierce resistance by indigenous people who preserved their culture and language against Spanish colonialists. In 1865 AD, Spanish colonists arrived on Mindanao Island; however, they were quickly driven out by locals who established their own government which lasted until 1896 AD when American forces invaded Indonesia territory under US occupation during World War II). During these years Spanish colonization was continued through military presence on Luzon island where American troops landed during World War II prior to its unconditional surrender at Japan's hands on September 2 1945 (). After Japanese occupied Philippines 1942–1945 (), American occupiers moved swiftly towards Manila Bay (), burning everything they encountered along the way (). Filipino civilian leadership elected General MacArthur as head of all Allied Forces Philippines () after successfully holding off Japanese attacks on Manila Bay (). MacArthur ordered UDT Ground Forces led by Major General Romulo Santos ("Rommel" – also known as "The Unforgettable")to move inland from Lingayen Gulf (); meanwhile remnants of Japanese 3rd Infantry Division () barely escaped encirclement at Marawi Mountain peak . USAAF Air Corps attacked several airfields northwest of Manila Bay (); resulting in some 50% loss for both Allies[]. With only 8 days remaining before hostilities ended,[], MacArthur called off all offensive operations against Japan following agreements reached between United States President Franklin D Roosevelt() and Imperial Japanese Commander Toyoda Hirobumi ["Hiroshima Joe"] aboard USS Enterprise () at Ulithi—the first successful carrier landing on Kyushu Islands []—on October 12 1945 ([] ). MacArthur turned over command back toGeneral Santos upon his arrival ashore []]; thenceforth Philippine CommonwealthCommanders exercised full sovereignty over areas liberated from Japanese rule without any formal treaty arrangement between United States Congresspersonalities concerned[]).[]. Plainfield was a small town in southern Illinois that is remembered for its cotton mills, football team, and other local attractions. The town dates back to 1824 and was founded by the Stephens family. The Stephens mill operated until 1851 and they also ran a subscription library which opened in 1830. The mill closed in 1865 but the library continued to operate until it was discontinued in 1922. The town had a population of around 10,000 people during the 1800s and 1900s. It experienced a significant decline after World War II but has gradually regained some of its former glory over the last few decades. In 2002, Plainfield was designated as an official National Historic Landmark for its importance in America's history.

The town was named for General Joseph Plain, who had been an important figure in the Revolutionary War. In 1815, the fortification of Plainfield was begun as part of a program to protect against invasion by Mexico. After several years, however, little progress was made and it wasn't until 1827 that a permanent garrison was set up. The fortifications were abandoned after Mexican forces invaded Plainfield and burned much of the town during their campaign. In 1829, thanks to donations from local citizens, a school was built in Plainfield and instruction began on July 1st that year. From then on, Plainfield became one of the most successful small towns in Illinois.
