The Plainfield Air Force Base gift history dates back to 1942 when the base was established as a United States air force station. The first gift in the history of the AFB was a ten-unit jeep, which became known as the "Camel" vehicle. The gift also included uniforms and other equipment for the new air force personnel. In 1951, a hangar was built on site and it was renamed "Harrison Hangar". The next year, gifts were accepted for military aircraft such as an F-86 Sabre jet fighter and an F-104 Starfighter interceptor. By 1957, there were more than 100 gifts given to Plainfield AFB personnel. That year, Gifts for Service Day was celebrated and all employees received a service medal or emblem. A major renovation project took place at Harrison Hangar in 1961 that added two hangars and enlarged several driveways onto the original property. This gave Plainfield AFB its present layout with one runway serving both military and civilian uses. In 1979, Gifts for Our Troops Day was celebrated and all employees received medals or emblems recognizing their service to our country during wartime or peacetime periods of time. During this special day, contributions to local charities were also noted by commanders of units stationed at Plainfield AFB. On Veterans Day in 1987, gifts were accepted for war bonds issued by members of the army corps de la garde nationale (Upper Canada Guards) who had served in Algeria since World War II. In 1994, Gifts For Our Troops Day was again celebrated and this time donations went specifically towards veterans' widows or orphans living near Plainfield AFB. Finally, on October 11th of 1998 marked the centennial anniversary of HQ USAF's establishment at Plainfield AFB - thus becoming one of America's largest post-World War II AFBs! It is interesting to note that not only has plainfield been home to many gifted individuals over the years but also many different types of gifts have been donated through various means including monetary donations (cash or check), food items (both from local businesses and from Air National Guard groups), paintings/drawings/motions pictures etc., often resulting in smiles from recipients upon receiving their package!
The USAF deployed a large gift to the people of Afghanistan in honor of the sacrifices made by service members and their families. The gift was a Boeing 747-400 which arrived at Kandahar Airfield on September 10th, 2009. The aircraft was filled with items including tents, food, water tanks, medical supplies and more. This generous gesture from the USAF is sure to send a message of support to the Afghan people and help improve their struggling economy. The deployment also sends a powerful signal that the United States will not let Afghanistan slide into another decade of instability and bloodshed.

Plainfield is a city in El Paso County, Illinois, United States. The population was 27,711 at the 2010 census. It lies on the banks of the Missouri River and is one of the most populous cities in Illinois. The first permanent settler in what is now Plainfield was Abram Warner who arrived there in 1812. He founded a small community called Warner's Grove on the site of present-day Canal Street and Randolph Street. Warner's Grove grew to become one of the largest villages in Northwest Illinois before being destroyed by a fire in 1836. In 1838, John Stephenson founded Stephenson's Station near where today Elmwood Avenue and Westcott Drive stand. The town became known as Stephensonville after General John Custer's Battle of Little Big Horn near modern day Wichita, Kansas during his campaign for governor of Kansas that year. In 1851, Englishman George Barlow bought 640 acres (248 ha) along the south bank of the Missouri River from Abraham Warner for $5 per acre ($2 7/ha). This area later became known as Plainfield Township when it was organized into a township on March 15, 1855. Plainfield experienced its greatest growth between 1860 and 1870 when many farmers left their farms to move to Chicago due to changes in American economic conditions caused by gold rushes throughout California and Nevada. Many large businesses were founded here including A&P grocery store, Armour automobile company, Ford car dealership and numerous other enterprises which helped make Plainfield one of America's leading industrial cities during this time period. During World War II many citizens joined up with military service or worked in factories located nearby while others built homes around Plainfield for wartime housing shortages; however very few families returned home after hostilities ended more than forty years later. With strong concentrations of industry remaining until recently however some subtle effects have been seen throughout everyday life such as an increase number of cars parked on streetsides outside businesses or increased use of technology within blocks radius rather than closer to actual residences which may lead to higher crime rates especially given that most residents are not employed outside their homes much these days

Deployments can be both physical and mental challenges; they are often times a time for growth and learning, as well as a chance to reunite with family and friends. In recent decades, however, deployments have become increasingly digitalized and impersonal. This change has had multiple consequences for the AF community: it has madeDeployment Gifts more difficult to find and purchase online, eliminated opportunities for personal interaction between servicemembers stationed at home or abroad, diminished sense of community within Service units (and across military branches), and decreased support for social events such as holiday celebrations or birthdays. In short, while deployments continue to play an important role in AF culture, they may not be as popular or meaningful as they used to be.

Plainfield was founded in 1837 as a village in the Illinois Territory. The town of Plainfield was platted in 1839 by Reverend Julius Packard and his wife, Lucretia.packard. A year later, the town was renamed to Plainfield after Henry W. Griggs, an early settler of that area. In 1847, the town became a city when it annexed the neighboring village of West Palatine. The population of Plainfield increased to over 4,000 by 1861 and peaked at 14,500 in 1921. It declined rapidly following World War II and lost its status as a major city until 1990 when it regained full city status with a population of over 25,000 people. The history of Plainfield is reflective of that of much Illinois during this time period: It was one of the earliest towns to be founded and grew rapidly due to its location on a trade route between Chicago and Detroit; it experienced significant growth during both peacetime (1847-1921) and wartime (WWII); and it has since returned to its original form as a small town with strong community values
Plainfield was founded in 1847 by Dr. John Hawksworth and his wife, Rebecca. The first post office in Plainfield opened in 1849. Plainfield was named after the town of Cleves, North Carolina, where Dr. Hawksworth spent time as a missionary work.
