The United States Air Force (USAF) has been deploying gift histories since the early days of World War II. Today, there are a number of ways in which USAF donated items to friendly forces around the world. One way is throughOperation Santa Claus, which sends gifts to unsuspecting military and civilian personnel across North America and Europe every December. One of the most famous USAF gift histories is that of General Douglas MacArthur, who received a number of donations from theAAF during his time as Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in Southeast Asia. Other notable USAF recipients include Admiral Chester Nimitz, who received more than 50 donations from the service between 1942 and 1945; Admiral John McCain, who received 25 donations between 1985 and 1988; and George H.W. Bush, whoreceived 20 gifts between 1987 and 1991. Today, USAF Gift History programs continue to provide valuable resources for our friends and allies around the world. In recent years, however, Peoria has seen significant growth in industries outside its traditional core: technology companies like Apple Inc., Intel Corporation, Microsoft Corporation and Facebook LLC have all set up operations here since 2007; research institutions including Northwestern University and Purdue University have also moved into or established new campuses in Peoria over that time; while high-skill manufacturing jobs have disappeared from many portions of central Illinois due to automation or other factors (a trend often mirrored across much of Midwest/Great Lakes region). Today's Peoriians are mosaic descendants drawn from diverse backgrounds who share their love for downtown living and natural amenities such as parksland along with strong entrepreneurial spirit – traits that have helped make this vibrant community one of America’s fastest growing cities
The United States Air Force has deployed gift history throughout the years. The military has given presents to friends and family, as well as to other nations, in an attempt to show appreciation for service. There are numerous examples of air force gifts that have been a part of people’s lives and cultures. One example is the deployment of the Manned Maneuvering Unit (MMU) in 1990. This unit was designed to provide support for Ronald Reagan’s foreign policy goals. It also helped improve American airspace security by flying over Soviet airspace during Operation Flaming Dart II. In 1992, the USAF donated a C-130J Hercules transport plane to Nicaragua as part of President George H.W. Bush’s promise to help Nicaraguans with their economic problems. In 2003, the USAF donated a KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft to Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki in response to his request for assistance during the sanctions crisis following Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait. The planes were used as troop carriers and cargo transports, and also played an important role in airstrikes against targets inside Saddam Hussein’s government at night. The USAF also contributed two P-3 Orion “ antisatellite killers” which were used during Desert Storm against Iraqi nuclear facilities). These gifts reflect both America's commitment to international cooperation through its military might, and also its support for freedom fighters abroad who fight for justice and human rights violations on home soil (e.g., Hezbollah).
