Located on Main Street in the heart of downtown Ottawa, the Heberts served up their own blend of Arabica beans and roasted them on their porch. They were a popular choice for locals and tourists alike, who would come to admire the unique flavor profile and beautiful architecture of their building. In 1984, Donny & Diane’s Coffee opened its doors as the first smallbatch café in Canada. Run byDonny and Diane from childhood friends until their deaths in 2009, Donny & Diane’s was an important milestone for small batch coffee lovers all over Canada. Their approach to brewing was simple: use fresh ingredients only what went into each pot/ mug, ensuring that each cup had a unique flavor profile. Today, we continue this tradition at our Ottawa location with hand-picked beans from around the world sourced daily from local farmers markets and roasters. Today, small batch coffee is still enjoyed by people all across Canada – from Toronto to Halifax – because it’s something special that you can trust with every cup.
