The shotgun was used for hunting game and is now stored at the Oswego Museum of History and Technology. In 1889, J.H.Cobb purchased a revolver from Elisha Gray and continues to be used as a family heirloom today. In 1912, T.L Caldwell purchased two shotguns from George Wertheimer, both were used for shooting birds on property located southeast of town on the current site of the Parkview Shopping Center. From 1916 to 1919, Gertrude Sills purchased four rifles from Hiram Hunt and continue to be enjoyed by the family today. In 1922, Alanson Daley purchases an automatic rifle from John Lennon which remains in use by the present day family members including Mrinal Pritchard and his wife Msgrudy Pritchard (Daley) .In 1934, Harry WeemsPurchase three pistols from Elijah Sellers who also owned a grocery store in town which is now located at 228 N Main Street in Oswego Township

Oswego is located in the far northwest corner of Illinois, on the border of Michigan and Minnesota. It is bordered by Winona to the east, Mankato to the north, and Dearborn Heights to the west. The population was 7,890 at the 2010 census. Oswego is one of two cities in Cook County (the other being Chicago), and it is part of the Chicago–Naperville–Area code 562 metropolitan area. The first Europeans to visit Oswego were French traders who landed in what is now Otter Tail Township on May 25, 1779. They named their new settlement after a village in Normandy called Ossigny-sur- mer which they had passed through on their way from Canada to France. The first school in Oswego was built on a log cabin near present day Harrison Road and Superior Avenue in 1802. By 1830 there were six schools in Oswego serving a population of 2,000 students. In 1837 OSWEGO CREEK was drained for water supplies for Cairo, Illinois; however when that project was completed local farmers refused to pay for it because they thought it would amount to another Taxation without Representation! In retaliation Governor Bruce ordered all county assessors across Cook County not to take title deeds from farmers until he received assurance that propertyowners would be taxed equally regardless of where their land sat! This caused such an uproar that Bruce finally relented and granted titles backdated from before his proclamation but only if everyone promise never again resist taxes without representation! A fire destroyed most of downtown Oswego on November 1st 1860; however with donations from many people including Judge Augustus Kelley and Amos Kendall president Abraham Lincoln soon $5,000 worth of lumber had been procured so rebuilding began almost immediately The belltower (rebuilt) still stands today as does part of the courthouse which housed both civil courts and criminal court until 1975 when it closed due heavy use; however much remains visible inside including bits of masonry used during construction dating back over 100 years ago! It wasn’t until 1968 when State Highway 10 was resurfaced that motorists could see what once became known as “Old Street” running along US 20 Business just south of Harrison Road; this street has since been renamed Main Street! OSWEGO FIRST BEGAN TO GET A BUSINESS LICENSE IN 1892 WHEN IT WAS THAT KIND OF OFFICIAL COMMUNICATIONS CENTER FOR THE COUNTY AND STATE OF ILLINOIS UNDER THE MANAGEMENT OF WILLIAM HUGHES! TODAY NO ONE CAN SAY THEY DON’T KNOW HIM FROM HIS TIME HERE!! William Hughes also started up “The Herald News” newspaper which served as our city’s official paper until 1973 when it closed due heavy use; However much remains visible inside including bits of masonry used during construction dating back over 100 years ago!

Oswego, Illinois is a small town located in Sangamon County, Illinois. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is the only village in Sangamon County and is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The first European to visit Oswego was French trader Pierre-Jean de Montaigne in 1598. He named the village after his friend and mentor, King Louis XIV of France. In 1779, General James Oglethorpe founded a military academy here which served as a model for many American colleges and universities. In 1847, George Washington Beecher moved his family to Oswego from Charlestown, Massachusetts after serving as pastor of Bethel Church here for several years. His wife Lucy Beecher became an important figure in local politics and education here before she died in 1856. Their son Charles Beecher followed their footsteps as an educator and lawyer before he also died young at age 44 in 1912. Oswego grew rapidly during World War I due to its strategic location on Lake Michigan just south of Chicago's city limits. After the war ended in 1918, the population expanded rapidly due to waves of new immigrants from all over America who came to work on farms or manage businesses around town. With more people coming into town, schools were built and infrastructure was improved including a water system that reached all parts of town by 1921. During the 1970s through 1980s there was significant growth within the community due to developers building high-rise buildings along Magnolia Avenue which fostered an increased sense ofcommunity pride among residents today
