In 1892, a coffee shop called the The Coffee House opened in the now defunct Oswego City Hall. It was soon followed by another coffee house, The Java Bean Cafe, and finally, The Coffee House & Grill in 1951. Through the years, Oswego's coffee scene has evolved with different roasters coming and going. Some of the most well-known Oswego roasters include Peet's Coffee Company, Dutch Bros., Bickerton Coffee Company, Half Price Coffee Roasters and many more. Today there are several small cafes that serve quality roasted coffee all around town. Some of these cafes include The Wellness Café, Dutch Bros., Blue Bottle Coffee and Starbucks.

The Oswego Coffee Company was founded in 1894 by George Washington Carver and his wife, Harriet. The company became one of the leading coffee roasters in the United States, often selling its coffee directly to consumers. In 1948, the company merged with other companies to form Peet's Coffee Corporation. After years of growth and progress at Peet's, the company went bankrupt in 1992. However, following a management buyout and restructuring that year, Peet's regained its former prominence as a major coffee brand in America.
Oswego is a small town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 3,824 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Oswego was founded in 1837 by John Lawler and his family. The community name comes from Oswego Lake, which lies east of the town and forms its eastern border. The first settler in what would become Oswego was Nicholas French in 1837. French named the lake after his friend and mentor, General James Kieft of the Shawnee Nation. Oswego's early years were difficult due to land shortages caused by Mexican raids into Illinois during the 1850s. However, over time, the town grew and prospered thanks to its rich agricultural history; Oswego is home to one of Cook County's largest cornfields and fruit orchards as well as several manufacturing plants such as a paper mill built in 1909 that still produces paper products today. In recent years, Oswego has seen an influx of new residents who have moved into the town for a variety of reasons:Oswego offers excellent public schools with top-notch curriculum and facilities; it is close to major highways including I-90/I-74; there are plenteous parks and recreation opportunities nearby; the local economy is strong because many businesses are based in small towns throughout Cook County like Oswegolandia Farms & Outlets located just minutes away from downtown; while crime rates remain relatively low given its large population size - most recent FBI figures place Oswegolandia Farms & Outlets on level with similar sized settlements such as Roseville - there are occasional reports of vandalism or theft plaguing isolated neighborhoods near downtown

It can be found in both convenience stores and online retailers. The first coffeehouses were founded in Europe during the 18th century. These places sold coffee made from whole beans, not either pre-ground or brewed with filters. In America, roasting began as early as 1795 when Nicholas Roebuck roast his own beans for his customers at his shop in Philadelphia. Coffee was originally traded between Europeans and Africans who brought it back to their countries where it was used for various purposes such as brewing tea and making chocolate. By 1830, Americans had started importing Italian espresso beans which gave birth to our current day flavor profile for espresso beans: dark, smoky, bitter, and acidic with a smooth texture (see FIGURE 1). Oswego, Illinois is a town in southern Illinois. It was originally called Clinton and was founded by Nicholas Wegman in 1818. The community was renamed Oswego after General George Washington's victory at the Battle of Yorktown in 1781. The first post office was established in 1824, and the first store opened in 1830. The population of Oswego grew rapidly during the early 19th century, reaching 5,000 by 1860. However, growth slowed after the Civil War and decline followed until the late 20th century when it reached its peak with over 10,000 residents. In recent years, Oswego has experienced a resurgence with a population of 730 people as of 2016.
Oswego was founded in 1827 by John P. Oswego and his wife, Anna Maria. The first post office was established in 1828. The town was named after the Oswego River, which ran through it. It began to grow rapidly during the 1830s and 1840s, thanks to its fertile farmland and attractive location on the East Side of Chicago. Oswego's population reached over 10,000 by 1850. By 1860, it had increased to 20,000 people and had a large cotton industry that contributed significantly to its growth. In 1886, Oswego became an incorporated city with a population of over 30,000 people. In 1898, the city annexed part of neighboring Elgin County and name changed back to Oswego. In 1951-1953, the City Council approval for annexing more land from Elgin County led to a decrease in the size of the city due to annexation rates exceeding 1%. Following this vote however, Oswego experienced rapid growth as new businesses moved into its downtown area and revived its economy once again. The population reached 50,000 by 1970 but has since declined slightly owing to housing shortages throughout much of Illinois at that time
