O'Fallon is a small town in the northwest corner of Illinois, United States. The population was 1,929 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The village of O'Fallon was organized in 1849 by James Hickey and others as a post office on the site of what is now the old O'Fallon Baptist Church. The first store opened in 1852 and it soon became an important local center for trade and commerce. In 1857, O'Fallon voters approved a $6,000 donation from Andrew Mellon to create "the city of O'Fallon." The new city was incorporated on December 12, 1858. In 1865, Chief Justice David Davis delivered a speech at the dedication of First Congregational Church which served as the cornerstone for present-day Main Street. That same year saw construction began on what would become State Capitol Square—the first brick building in Illinois built with public funds. In 1867–68 local farmers formed "The Agricultural Society" to promote agriculture and raise money for school tuition for their children; this organization still exists today as one of mainstays behind agricultural research in Illinois today. In 1870–71 wireheading took off with largescale shipments coming down Lake Michigan; many locals (especially men) became involved in this new industry which led to increased business opportunities for O’Fallon retailers including Griggs Hardware Co., Barnes & Noble Bookstore, Applebee's restaurant and several other businesses that continue to operate today within downtown boundaries (notably Fourth Street Cafe). Railroads arrived early in town too – railways brought jobs to townspeople during both World Wars while also providing transportation services that assisted people moving into and leaving downtown core areas; those days are long gone but some elements remain such as Amtrak’s Downers Grove Station just east of downtown on I-90/I-465 where trains stop regularly serving snacks/drinks throughout each scheduled trip provided by Griggs Hardware Co.; currently there are no stops available anywhere near Downtown so visitors must either drive or take public transportation! In some cases entire farms are devoted to producing one type of artisanal coffee while others produce just a few selected strains exclusively. Today there are many different regions worldwide where artisanal coffees can be enjoyed; these include Africa (where Ethiopians enjoy unique flavors), Asia (where Sumatra-grown Coffee turns bitter after aging), South America (where Pisco pepperocrops are made), Europe (with focus on organic standards), Australia & New Zealand (with an emphasis on sustainability) and North America (< 5% local).

O'Fallon is a town in McLean County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,827 at the 2010 census. It has since shrunk by almost half due to the loss of jobs in the local agricultural industry and other businesses. The name O'Fallon is derived from Irish Gaelic "Ialann" meaning "place where people go up".[1] The first permanent settler in what is now O'Fallon was James Caldwell on May 10, 1832,[2] when he and his family moved from Canada. Caldwell arrived with seven others who had been sent out to explore the area by Governor Indiana Jones of Illinois. They built a log cabin near present-day Schoolcraft Road and started a small farm. In 1836, John Fenton organized an agricultural society with twenty-four members for raising crops and selling them to buyers at twice the price of cornmeal that year. By 1840, Fenton had purchased two hundred acres (121 km2) of land east of Present day O'Fallon from Captain Daniel Boone.[3] He named his new community after General Michael Collins's brigade which fought at Battle Creek during the War of 1812[4]: "Collinsville". In 1840s also came waves of immigrants to this area: Swedes (1840), Germans (1841), Irishmen (1842/43), Poles (1845), Italians (1846/47), Lithuanians (1849/50). They brought their own culture with them as well as their skills in agriculture, livestock husbandry, carpentry and milling products such as flour and cheese. The earliest church was erected in 1844 on property donated by Mrs John Fenton Nagle; it served until 1865 when a new building was erected on Forest Hill Road just north of present day High School campus.. The 1860s were difficult times for O’Fallon because most farmers were unable to sell their produce due to depressed prices caused by warring factions within America including slavery vs free labor disputes over cotton production between slave states - this led many residents to leave for good during this time period including those who lived in Collinsville

O'Fallon, Illinois was founded in 1837 by the O'Fallon Township Company. In 1847, it became a town. The population of O'Fallon was 3,000 people in 1870 and 5,000 people in 1880. In 1907, the population of O'Fallon was 24,711. The population of O' Fallon had grown to over 50,000 by 1920.
