The United States Air Force Deployed Gift History in North Chicago, Illinois began on October 1st, 1948. The gift history program was started to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the USAF. "I'm really excited about this helicopter," said Chief Master Sergeant Rowe as he accepted the donation from Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Jeter."It will be valuable for our unit because we now have access to more airspace and better support from our brethren in Great Britain." In addition to its use by RAF Kestrel, the American Eagle has also been used by US military forces in Afghanistan and Iraq . In each case it has flown vital missions providing air cover for troops on ground or conducting airstrikes against enemy combatants. One Squadron at Fort Hood is currently using an American Eagle helicopters for flight training purposes; this sponsorship allows US soldiers stationed at Fort Hood to train under one roof with professional helicopters from another country which may be used in combat situations around the world

The North Chicago Aviation Museum, located at the Northwest Indiana Airport in Elkhart,Indiana has a Gift History of Air Force deployed items dating back to the 1960s. The museum features artifacts from the United States Air Force and its branches including the Military Airlift Command (MAC), Special Operations Forces, and more. The MAC was formed in 1948 as an independent organization within the USAAF. It served as a combined arm of Strategic Air Command and Tactical Air Command until 1973 when it was disbanded and its functions divided between PACAF and AMC. In 1992, MAC merged with Special Operations Forces to create Delta Force. In 2006, MCM added an air defence artillery unit to their collection which is now known as The Arsenal Artillery Regiment (HAAR). In 1967-1968 a gift of surplus C-5 Galaxy cargo planes was given to MAC by Boeing Co for use in resupplying USAF units stationed abroad. These planes were eventually converted into KC-135 Stratotankers and continue service today with USAFE under Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom.

These aircraft were used as transports, providing humanitarian aid while also conducting strikes against enemy targets inside Iraq. 1994- In commemoration of 25 years since America’s entry into World War II, McDonnell Douglas donated six CFM56 Global Hawk Missile Systems (Airman number 426th Missile Squadron) destined for Saudi Arabia as part ofOperation Kingfisher VIII. This effort marked America’s first such donation outside North America and also represented oneofthelargestaircraft DonationbytheUnitedStatesafirepowerhousesinceWorldWarII. 1995- It was announced that Boeing would provide five KC–135 Stratotankers with flyovers in honorofDoolittle Day – November 9th – marking 50 Years Since the Birth Of John Doolittle! North Chicago is a city located in Cook County, Illinois, on the Northwest Side. The population was 97,831 as of the 2010 census. North Chicago is bordered by the city of Elgin to the north and west; Streamwood to the east; Westchester County to the south and southwest; and Kane County to the northwest. It is one of two cities in Cook County that are not part of Chicago proper. The first people to live in what is now North Chicago were Lenape Native Americans who came from upstate New York in 1671. They were followed by other groups such as Shawnee, Potawatomi, Miamis, Kickapoo, and Winnebago Sioux. The area now called North Chicago was first settled by European Americans in 1833 when Captain John Fitch sold land at Cahokia Landing on Lake Michigan for $5 per acre (0.25 km²). This was one of many sales made during Fitch's time as a fur trader in this region. In 1838, John Dolan established a sawmill at present-day Northwest Side Market Street which became one of the largest mills in Illinois. Dolan also founded DuPage County around this time and began selling land here for farming purposes. By 1840, there were over 100 families living in NorthChicago along with 160 buildings including stores, churches and taverns! In 1847-48 violence erupted between pro-slavery settlers who had moved into this area from Indiana Territory (now central Illinois) following their victory over an anti- slavery uprising led by Andrew Johnson near Springfield known as The Battle of Peoria (also known as The Alamo). Soon after General Harrison's Expedition against Mexico arrived through these same streets on September 26th1847 it quickly become clear that pro-federal forces outnumbered pro-slavery militants 3:1 with only sporadic gunfire exchanged while men walked about unarmed! As news spread throughout northern Illinois about Mexican troops marching through town square dozens of citizens armed with rocks or firearms started streaming out onto Pratt Street seeking refuge inside homes! A fewauto shots ringed select homes but no casualty resulted thankfully! When night fell local militiamen emerged from hiding places intent upon preventing any more bloodshed although accounts differ greatly regarding whether they managed to successfully do so or not !!! Aftermath Lt Col Samuel Foote reported "I saw several men scalped before I got within striking distance!" No further action occurred until October 2nd when General George Armstrong tried entry into town but found it empty!!! In short violence ensued primarily because both sides believed that others would take advantage if things got too hot!! mTwaNcH
