North Aurora, Illinois is a small town located in Kane County, Illinois. The population was 2,811 at the 2010 census. North Aurora is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. It is the only village in Kane County and it forms part of the city of Chicago. The history of North Aurora goes back to 1855 when a group of settlers from New England arrived in what is now North Aurora. They were farmers who built their homes around a mill that still stands today. The mill produced flour for local markets and helped grow the community by providing jobs and income. In 1905, a group of investors purchased the mill and began to expand it into manufacturing operations. Over time, they developed a variety of products including clocks, watches, guitars and other musical instruments. In 1958, they merged with another small village in Kane County named Geneva to form one large village known as North Aurora-Geneva. Today, North Aurora remains an important community with strong ties to its residents and friends across America.

In the Middle Ages, coffee was used as a drink for nobles and other high-ranking people. George Washington drank Sumatra beans in his morning coffee. The first espresso machine was invented in 1795 by Angelo Parisi and became popularized by Giovanni Frattini in 1803. Coffee began to be exported to Europe in the 1700s and Australia and New Zealand started to import coffee in the 1800s. By 1830, over eighty different types of roasted beans were available from around the world. Coffee became cost effective with various machines becoming available that could roast more than one type of bean at a time. Roasted beans were also shipped fresh to markets all over the world. In 1917, Bob Dylan began drinking Beansworld Organic Arabica beans while he was living on Mount Hood in Oregon during his promotional tour for his album “The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan” which included performances at local cafes throughout Portland area including The Brazen Head Café on Burnside Street (now known as Soulard). After returning home from his tour, Dylan started using Beansworld beans exclusively for his albums beginning with “The Times They Are A-Changin’” released on Janurary 1st, 1965 Dylan continued using Beansworld beans until he left college in 1971

North Aurora was founded in 1834 by John and Anna Addison. The town grew rapidly, becoming a bustling center for commerce and culture. In the 1870s, North Aurora became the site of the ill-fated Chicago & Northwestern Railroad. The railroad's tracks ran through the town, leaving an impact on its economy that still continues to this day. In addition to its economic contributions, North Aurora also played a vital role in American history. For example, during World War II, North Aurora served as one of the first U.S. military bases in Illinois and played a major role in training Allied forces for war.
The first Europeans to arrive in what is now North Aurora were French traders and missionaries in the mid-1700s. The area was part of the Northwest Territory until 1809, when it became part of Illinois. In 1818, the United States acquired land west of the Mississippi River as part of Treaty of Ghent. This included present-day North Aurora and parts of what are now Kane County and Dearborn County. North Aurora was incorporated as a village on January 1, 1825, from portions of Ottawa Township and Elgin Township. On November 3, 1830, a fire destroyed most of the village buildings but not its courthouse or jail. The rebuilt structure opened in April 1831. In 1834, citizens voted to incorporation as a town. On February 28 that year, the village had 507 residents; it grew rapidly during this time with new housing developments being built along US Highway 36 and on Main Street. The population reached 1,000 by 1860. In 1870–71, homes began to be built near Green Lake in what is now South Arlington Heights; these were later replaced by more extensive development around town center beginning in the early 1920s (see History timeline). North Aurora continued growth through World War II with an increase in population from 2,500 to over 10,000 people during wartime production jobs at nearby KTC Motors Corporation (now Ford Motor Company) and Wabash Steel Works (now ArcelorMittal). More recently there has been significant redevelopment taking place around town center with mixed use projects such as apartment buildings and retail stores developing along main streets while smaller residential neighborhoods have sprung up throughout recent years within walking distance of downtown core businesses
