It was a small, family-owned business that sold only coffee. From the beginning, Gourmet Coffee was known for their quality beans and unique syrups. Gourmet Coffee is one of the oldest and most successful coffee companies in America. The company began with just a handful of employees and started selling its own beans direct to consumers. In 1975, Ted Pugh and his wife Lori opened Gourmet Coffee on Morris Street in downtown Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood. At that time, Gourmet Coffee had only two stores – one located in Englewood and one located near State University of New York at Buffalo – but it quickly became known as one of America’s leading coffee businesses. In 1979, Gourmet Coffee moved its headquarters to suburban Chicagoland from Buffalo, New York followingTed Pugh’s purchase of an entire acre of land inside what is now Dempster University limits outside Chicago’s Loop community area! This move allowed Gourmet Coffees to become nationally well-known and respected within the coffee industry. By 1984, there were more than fifty Gourmandous locations across North America including eighteen locations inside Illinois! Morris is a small town in Clark County, Illinois, United States. The population was 717 at the 2000 census. Morris was founded in 1857 and named for General James G. Morrell, who served as commander of the Union Army during the American Civil War. Morris is located in east-central Illinois on the shores of the Calumet River. The town developed around an old salt mine that still produces salt today. In 1865, farmers from nearby towns began settling in Morris and started to build homes. By 1870, the population had reached 1,000 people and by 1880 it had grown to 5,000 people. The first schools were built in Morris in 1875. In 1915, a new school building was built for Morris High School which became known as "the bluffs". The current high school building was completed in 1951 and replaced an earlier structure that dated back to 1869. In 1957, General James G. Morrell declared Morris a city and it became one of four cities incorporated into Clark County after being created from parts of three other municipalities: Bloomington (1902),Normal (1905) and Rockford (1909). In 1978,Morris also joined the Metropolitan Chicago Council
