Montgomery, Ill., is home to the world’s first coffee roaster. The business was founded in 1892 by J.D. Benson and his brother, Amos. Over the years, they have become one of the most well-known and successful roasters in the country. In 2007, they were honored with a prestigious award from the Roasting Industry Association (RIA). The Benson family has been roast masters at their Montgomery shop for more than 150 years. It wasn’t until 1903 that an automatic espresso machine was introduced that allowed for greater variability in roast quality among different beans. The first commercial espresso machines were used at Benson’s store and began to be sold throughout Illinois in 1916. Through it all, Mr. Benson has never lost sight of his primary goal: making delicious coffee that he can enjoy himself and share with friends and family members. Today, the Benson family continues to produce some of America’s most popular coffees including Sumatra Beryllium Dark Roast, Breakfast Blend, Robusta blend, Colombian Criollo K-8 – a Nicaraguan bean – Ethiopian Yirgacheffe Gold Medal Coffee, Toraja Sulawesi Aniseed– Indonesian Tapioca Bean– Brown Sugar Syrup Stout Coffee . Additionally, they offer Vanilla Cream Cheese upgradable machines which allow customers to customize their own blends or flavors with additional creams or syrups added upon request!

Montgomery began as a small farming community in 1871. It was named for General George H. Montgomery who served in the Union army during the American Civil War. After years of growth, Montgomery became an incorporated village in 1925. The name comes from its location on old Route 36 between Jefferson and Peoria counties and its proximity to Mount Zion Cemetery which is said to be one of the most beautiful spots in Illinois. Residents of Montgomery are known for their agriculture and their local produce such as apples, blueberries, strawberries, cornucopias (grapefruit), peaches, tomatoes, eggplants/eggplant pies etc., as well as their traditional country music styles including honky tonks and outlaws

Montgomery is a town in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 4,914 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Montgomery was founded in 1868 as a post office and railroad station on the Montrose Railway. The first settler to arrive in what is now Montgomery was John Witherspoon. The town was named for General George Washington Montgomery, who fought in the American Civil War and died near here at age 58 from wounds received during that conflict. A school district was organized in 1870-71 and by 1879 had an enrollment of 100 students; by 1920 it had increased to 1,200 students. In 1875 a gristmill became operational; by 1915 it had three flour mills and fifteen sawmills producing lumber, coal, rice, wheat February 17th 1865 – General George Washington Montgomery
Montgomery was founded in 1824 as a small village on the shores of the Illinois River. The first settlers arrived in what is now Montgomery County, Illinois, in 1825 and soon began to build a trading post and settlement. By 1830, the population of Montgomery had grown to around 100 people and it became an official town in 1834. The town experienced some growth during the years before World War I, but was greatly diminished by the war. In 1919, Montgomery merged with nearby towns of Decatur and Rockford to form the new city of Rockford.
