Midlothian, Illinois is a town in McLean County, Illinois, United States. The population was 3,031 at the 2010 census. Midlothian is the county seat of McLean County. It is located on the banks of the White River. The first European to visit what is now Midlothian was French trader-acheteur Jacques Marquette in 1679. He named it after his native village of Lille in France and noted that there were "a great many high trees" hereabouts. In 1802, when Indiana Territory was organized into counties, Midlothian became one of them; its courthouse and jail were built near present day downtown by Territorial Marshal John Tipton. In 1853 the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad reached this community from Decatur just north of where it crossed the White River at what is now called Depot Road NW. This made it possible for farmers to get their goods to Chicago without having to go through Cedar Rapids or Peoria (midway between Bloomington and Chicago). The railroad also brought people and businesses here who soon started up what has been called "the Indianapolis District." The first post office in Midlothian opened in 1868; it moved to its current location around 1880. In 1903 Midlothian had a population of 2,500; by 1910 it had increased to 4,000+. Pre-war growth included a huge phasehike along Roosevelt Boulevard which ran from west town to east town; during World War II all production ceased except for munitions plants until 1946 when civilian production resumed with help from Army Ordnance Plant No. 1 (now known as General Dynamics Land Systems) on East Main Street across from High School Memorial Stadium which then became home stadium for both football and basketball teams until 2003 when they moved off campus into new facilities built on Parkland Drive SE adjacent to McCormick Place sports complex which includes baseball/softball fields as well as an NFL/NHL arena In 2006 representatives from Northwest Indiana AFL players union met with officials from Major League Soccer's Orlando City SC about forming an affiliation agreement similar but not duplicative with USL Pro club Indy Eleven FC operated by Steenkamp family ownership group featuring former Ibrox player Jaime Moreno among others including potential naming rights deals If successful MLS would provide match fees while Indy Eleven would serve as majority owner

Midlothian is a town in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,935 at the 2010 census. Midlothian is located on the border of Kane County and McLean County. It began as a small settlement near the confluence of the Kankakee and Chicago Rivers in 1837. In 1870, it became one of twelve townships organized in Kane County by act of the General Assembly; Midlothian remained an unincorporated community until it was incorporated as a town on November 3, 1903. The first post office was established in 1837 and closed in 1865; Midlothian's first store opened in 1868. Midlothian's incorporation represented a geographic shift from rural to urban areas within Kane County. By 1920, all but one of the town's precincts had reached majority white populations; only two black residents lived there before 1990. The city of Chicago annexed portions of Kane and McLean Counties in 1908-09; Midlothian did not become part of that annexation because its borders were still based on township boundaries when it merged with Chicago on November 3, 1903. Today no trace remains of what once constituted Midlothian except for memories among some current residents about their childhoods spent hereabouts during those times when it was just another small community off Route 34 between Chicago and Elgin (now Bloomington). Although most people who grew up here remember little about their childhoods other than that they went to school here or played outside on county fairgrounds nearby – this could be due to changes over time: while parts of Kane and McLean counties have experienced rapid suburban growth since then (due especially to DNA testing services offered by AncestryDNA), portions closer to downtownChicago have seen more modest gentrification rates1; indeed much recent development around McCormick Place has taken place without any appreciable impact whatsoever upon old-fashioned family farming lifestyles which continue largely unchanged today despite intense media exposure2 - mid-sized towns like Midlathian are wont to experience such things quietly over time 4 .
