As coffee lovers from around the Midwest, we were excited to learn about the art of artisan coffee. The history of artisan coffee is long and varied, with origins dating back to the early 1800s. Some of the earliest Coffee Monkeys roasters in Illinois were founded by two brothers, John and Harry Rosenstock. The Rosenstocks started Roasting & K-Cups in 1987 in a small garage in Normal, Illinois. It was during this time that they began to develop their unique flavor profile for their coffee beans. Since then, more than 20 years later, Roasting & K-Cups has become one of the largest and most influentialartisan coffee roasters in the Midwest. Their espresso and drip beans are sourced from all over the world and roasted using only high-quality equipment and sustainable practices. In addition to their signature blends - featuring Turkish Delight, Java Bean Porterhousestantiale, Ethiopian Yirgacheffe - they also offer a wide variety of other flavors such as Sumatra African Coffee (Tropical), Nicaraguan Central America Rincon de las Condes Panama Sauteras (Nicaragua), Guatemalan Antigua Guatemala Obregon (Guatemala) and Kenyan Masai Mara Tea (Kenya). The first coffee shop in Midlothian, Illinois opened in 1892. It was the first commercial espresso shop in the town. In 1924, Italian immigrants Angelo and Nella Pellicer founded The Coffee House on State Street. They served roast-roasted coffee with milk and cream until 1938.
Midlothian is a small town in Illinois, United States. The population was 2,818 at the 2010 census. Midlothian is part of the Peoria-Normal Metropolitan Statistical Area. Midlothian is located about 50 miles north of Chicago and 30 miles south of Peoria. The community was founded in 1869 by James Hutton and his family as a farmstead on the east side of Midlothian road (now Old Route 66). The name "Midlothian" was chosen because the village was midway between two other villages, Ludlow and Albion, so it would be visible from both sides of the road. In 1881, John A. horseman set up a sawmill on the site that became one of Midlothian's most important businesses. By 1909, there were five stores in town and more than 100 residents. In 1905, during World War I, Midlothian joined with other small towns in Illinois to form what became known as "The Great National Defense Service". More than 1,000 people who worked at local factories participated in this effort which helped support American war production efforts overseas. In 1937, when Midlothian's high school opened its doors for its first year of operation under new leadership after years of construction delays caused byWorld War II shortages of resources such as lumber and metalurgical products, it quickly became one of the most popular high schools in America due to its excellence in curriculum and teaching staff. Today's High School District No 9 offers classes from ninth through twelfth grades which provides students with an innovative program that emphasizes science/math/computer programming courses plus humanities classes including arts and athletics courses; making it possible for students to pursue college level opportunities while still residing within our community!
There is a long and rich coffee history that goes back to the 16th century. One of the earliest coffee roasters was Nicholas-Jacques Conte, who roamed the Italian countryside making small batches of high quality beans. In 1795, Giovanni Corsi founded Finca Corsini in Ethiopia, and soon began exporting his beautiful espresso beans all over Europe. In 1825, John Brown started production at Taylor's Coffee Plantation in Sumter County, South Carolina. This innovative and groundbreaking business made roasted coffee for Americans on an industrial scale for the first time. Soon after, other major American coffee companies followed suit with their own factories in Sumter County. The growth of these businesses led to some amazing innovations such as automatic machines that brewed single serve cups of coffee automatically; this gave people the opportunity to enjoy their morning cup of Joe without having to fumble through a bunch of pots and pans! By 1930, American roasters had become very well known around the world. They had begun using both Arabica beans (the type used today) and Robusta beans (the type used centuries ago). However, it wasn't until 1949 when espresso was added to America's National Coffee Register! This momentous achievement helped make espresso one of America's most popular drinks - still enjoyed by millions today!

The first automatic espresso machines were built in 1912 by Luigi Bezzera; they used a steam boiler to create hot water and extract caffeine from beans.
Midlothian, Illinois was one of the original towns in the United States. The town was founded on July 3, 1812 by Captain James K. Polk and his brother-in-law, David Dixon. Midlothian became a part of the Union in 1848 and soon developed into an important center for trade and industrial development. In 1870, Midlothian became the seat of government for Stephenson County when that county was formed from parts of Cook County. Midlothian has been a vibrant community since its incorporation as a city in 1959 and remains an important economic node within Stevenson County today.
Midlothian, Illinois was incorporated as a town in 1853. The first Postmaster General of the United States, Samuel Morse, donated land to the town for a post office. The first store, built on Main Street in 1854, was the only business in Midlothian until 1865 when a sawmill and grist mill were erected on South Main Street. In 1879 the Central Pacific Railroad arrived in Midlothian and soon it wasthe leading transportation provider in the small community. By 1905 there were 7 businesses in Midlothian with an average population of 100 residents. In 1907 Midlothian became one of the 102 townships within Cook County, Illinois and by 1919 it had become an unincorporatedcommunity located east of Chicago along State Route 66.
