In the early 1990s, Harry's underwent a major restructure that saw it merge with two other small roasters - Bickerton Roasters and Dutch Bros. coffee - forming what is now known as Peet's Dutch Bros., Incorporated (PBDI). The town was platted in 1847 by Jedediah Matteson and his nephew, Solomon Matteson. The name is derived from Wabash College on the north side of town, which was founded by Jedediah Matteson and his brother-in-law, Noah Webster. In 1881, Matteson became part of what would become Cook County. It had a population of 3,000 in 1914 when it joined with other towns in the nearby village of Cicero to form the new city of Chicago. However, by 1945 Matteson's population had shrunk to just over 1,000 residents remaining until its incorporation into Forest Park as a suburb of Chicago in 1964. Later that year it merged with neighboring unincorporated communities to form Mount Prospect Township along with neighbouring Burlington Heights Township and Lawndale Village from Rahway Township - all within Forest Park's borders today.
