The wing donated a new Scania truck to Matteson-based First American Credit Union for its employees and local residents. First American Credit Union is an important part of the community in Matteson, and this donation was an important way for the wing to support the institution.

Matteson is a small town in Illinois, located in the northwest corner of the state. It is one of two towns in Cook County, and part of Chicago. Matteson was founded by Germans in 1847. The town saw growth during World War I as businesses grew to support the war effort; however, after the war ended, Matteson slowed down its growth and merged with other smaller villages within Cook County. Today, Matteson is a small but thriving community with a rich history that has been passed down through its residents for centuries. Some of the most important moments in Matteson’s recent history include becoming home to Northwestern University’s Kendall School of Medicine and Health Sciences (now Northwestern Memorial Hospital), which was established in 1925; being named one of Illinois’ “Top 25 Places to Live In 2015″ by Forbes Magazine; and hosting the annual German Festival each July since 1984. Matteson was first settled by Germans around 1847. Today, there are about 350 German-born residents living in Matteson – nearly all of whom are descendants of those who founded the town. The first settlers were farmers who came from Bavaria (Germany). Over time, they developed a culture that emphasized agriculture and contributed significantly to the growth of Matteson over time. The name Matteson comes from three different sources: Mätzelt or Maytselt (a village near Weimar) ; Aßmannsdorf or Aßmannsdorf (a place near Augsburg) ; and Hattenwasser or Hattenwasser (water at Hattenwasser Falls). The original name may have been inspired by Adam Mätzelsbach or Matthias Aßmann, both natives of Bavaria who had come to America to find success as entrepreneurs. Mettlestadt became official on October 26th , 1847 when an act was passed by Congress recognizing that there were now two places called “Mattesborough”: one located north of Kankakee River between Decatur and Urbana where many European immigrants had settled and another located south-west of Kankakee River between Aurora and Danville where many African Americans had settled . This change meant that Europeans could now live side-by-side with African Americans without fear for their safety or livelihoods
The Matteson, Illinois community was organized in 1848 when the first settlers arrived in what is now the town of Matteson. The original name for the community was "Matteson Township", but it was changed to "Matteson" in 1851 because of geographical confusion with another township in Illinois, Matteson County. The town's current name comes from a donation by J. P. Morgan to the town in 1917.
