The first gun shop in Macomb was established by a brother and sister in 1836. The business became known as the Rifle Shop, eventually becoming the Gunsmiths Arms & Ammunition store. In 1858, the Store moved to its present location on North Main Street. The Store continued to operate until 1978 when it closed its doors for good. In 1898, John Browning started manufacturing firearms in Macomb. His company would later become Smith & Wesson Corporation. From 1898-1911, Smith & Wesson manufactured handguns under the name of "Milwaukee". In 1911, they redesigned their pistols as the Model 10 and began production of those guns under the name of "Smith & Wesson Model 10A" in honor of their founder John Browning. It should be noted that these pistols were not actually designed or manufactured by Milwaukee Firearms Company - they were instead created by engineers at Smith & Wesson who based their design off of an existing firearm made by Colt Industries Corporation. During World War II (1939-1945), Smith & Wesson produced firearms for both American and German forces. Their weapons designs included the Combat revolver and bolt action rifle which saw wartime use throughout Europe and Asia Pacific respectively. After World War II ended, many of these firearms were replaced with new models but some remain extant today including the M&P Shield handgun which was introduced in 2015 and is currently available for purchase online from S&WUSA . Today, S&WUSA still manufactures firearms under various brand names such as revolvers (Sigourney/Hammerless) revolvers (Laurus), semi-automatic handguns (Walther PPS Walther), rifles ( Stevensberg/Remington), shotguns (Browning HiPower/Hornady Pump Action) as well as muzzleloaders (Remington). Macomb is a city in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 27,771 at the 2010 census. Macomb is the county seat of Cook County. It lies on the eastern edge of Chicago and forms part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The area around present-day Macomb was long disputed between Native Americans and European settlers. In 1825, as part of a peace treaty ending the Black Hawk War, all Native American properties within six miles (10 km) of what is now Macomb were ceded to Illinois by President James K. Polk in what became known as theMacomb Cession Act. On December 12, 1827, General James Dearborn's army began its invasion of Indiana Territory from Lake Michigan and sacked much of what is now Macomb Township; this destroyed most Indian land in that region and caused great indignation throughout Illinois at what was seen as an act of genocidal violence against Native Americans. In 1834, Congress created a new township for Illiniwekketepeechequanagoongvaagwawassaadgeeo—now suburban Englewood—in western Cook County which would become one of Chicago's first suburbs. The name "Cook County" was not applied to any portion thereof until later when it became part of Illinois after statehood in 1818. In 1860–1861 Abraham Lincoln served as mayor of Danville before becoming governor in 1865 and then Ulysses S. Grant’s running mate on the Ulysses S. Grant-John F Kennedy ticket during their successful campaign for president that year During World War I, many factories located near current day Northwest Side Avenue closed due to wartime production shortages while other factories built up capacity thanks to government subsidies such as war bonds After World War II many manufacturing plants closed but with increased demand for service jobs these companies reopened or relocated few blocks away from where they once stood making today's NW side nearly deserted except for a few small businesses

Macomb is a community in Macomb County, Illinois, United States. The population was 21,912 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in what is now Macomb County was James Kapp, who arrived in 1786. In 1809, John Fenton platted what is now downtown Macomb and named it after his home town of Mount Auburn in Massachusetts. In 1837, Morgan Lewis bought land on the east side of Chicago from the Peoria Indians and began to build a plantation called Eldredge gristmill on Deerpath which he named "Eldredge Mills". In 1854, Lewis sold his interest in Eldredge Mills to George Stephenson for $2 million. Stephenson's company built the first railroad into this area and developed other businesses such as flour mills and breweries. During World War II, local companies made supplying munitions for the war effort possible by smuggling goods into their neighborhoods using tunnels under Mount Prospect Avenue. One of these companies was Mack Truck Works (later known as Ford), which turned out trucks for General Motors; other local firms that produced munitions include Armour & Armstrong Ammunition Company (now Chiappa) and Ulysses S Grant Chemical Works (now Monsanto). On October 7th 1922 when Charles Wetteland became President of America's Steel Corporation Mr Wetteland announced that steel production would soon reach its pre-war levels due to an increase in demand from vehicle manufacturers due to increased fuel efficiency standards set forth by the American Auto Workers union during 1919-1920; this increase led to macaroni becoming one of America's leading exports due to its high quality specs combined with low price point caused by advancements in technology; this trend continued until Japan entered World War II . This also led to production increases at GM plants across North America throughout 1942 as Japanese military engineers deltaed over technology developments being made at GM plants across North America .
