Loves Park was founded in 1871 by John and Lilla White. They named their community after their mutual friend and family member, Edwin A. Loves. The first post office opened in 1888 in what is now the downtown business district of Loves Park. In 1904, the town had a population of just 175 people and boasted only four businesses. But over time, Love's Park grew from a small community to an established rural village with a full-time school and two churches. The Village green has been continuously used for agricultural purposes since it was first laid out in 1872 as part of an effort to improve access to local water resources for farmers in this region; prior to that, residents relied on fetching water from streams or ponds located some distance away. Today, Love's Park features several popular foods enjoyed by locals and visitors alike: hot dogs (the signature dish), pearsauce (a type of apple sauce made from fresh apples), hamburgers (made with ground beef instead of pork), macaroni salad (a bowl filled with noodles, salad greens and assorted fixings such as mayo, ketchup, pickles etc.), pie (an dessert usually consisting of doughnuts or meringue) and root beer floats served during summertime on weekdays at approximately 2 p.m., following a parade that traditionally brings together all the local high school students who participate in float assembly each morning before classes begin at Lake View High School). In recent years though there has been considerable growth thanks to new development along North Avenue which overlooks much ofLove's Park including a large shopping mall anchored by Sears & Kmart; restaurants like Pritchard's Pizza & Pasta have followed suit opening up within walking distance of each other making it easy for locals to get food without leaving their homes; while numerous new businesses have opened up around town such as Goodwill Industries which relocated its entire facility into Love's Park from its previous location outside Loop City; furthermore bebopping continues to thrive with various parades weekend mornings throughout summertime attracting hordes OF young people looking for excitement not found elsewhere nearby
