Our history goes back even further than that – to 1865 when John Bogle founded the first known restaurant in Lindenhurst. The townspeople were so excited about this new development that they started calling him 'The Town Crier'. After years of hard work, Bogle's business grew into what it is today – a full-service coffee shop with more than 20 locations across Illinois and Missouri. In recent years, we've seen a resurgence in interest in artisan coffee as people continue to appreciate how unique and different it can be. According to coffee historian, Don Childers, the first coffeehouse in Lindenhurst was established by Nicholas Davenport and his brother John in 1792. The business operated for about a year before moving to its current location. In 1807, coffee farmer and entrepreneur Nicholas Lyon opened the first café in Lindenhurst. The Lyons Coffee House continued to serve excellent espresso drinks until 1971 when it closed its doors after many years of operation.

Lindenhurst, Illinois is a town in Edwards County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,693 at the 2010 census. Lindenhurst was founded in 1848 and named for Colonel John Lindenroth of New York City, who donated land to the village. The first post office in Lindenhurst was established on July 16, 1850. The Village of Lindenhurst was organized on February 15, 1889 from part of the Township of Edwardsville. The original trustees were: Alexander J. Caldwell (President), Hiram W. Craig (Trustee 2nd), Reverend Cephus Sibley (Trustee 3rd), George Ayer (Trustee 4th), Drury Latham ( Trustee 5th) and James Fenton ( Trustee 6th). On November 14, 1910 a fire destroyed most of the old millinery district building which had been built around 1830 by order of Governor John Pendergast as a demonstration project to promote new technologies in manufacturing while also promoting trade with England during his time as President US Grant’s Vice Presidential candidate. Most importantly this event demonstrated that industry could thrive even during difficult times using advancements like air conditioning and automatic sprinklers Lindenhurst has experienced rapid growth over the years due to its location right off I-55 and its easy access to major shopping malls such as Sears & Roebuck and Macy's locations as well as other businesses in nearby towns including Edwardsville and Decatur
Lindenhurst is a census-designated place located in McHenry County, Illinois. The population was 1,879 at the 2010 census. Lindenhurst was originally founded as a farming community by German immigrants in 1847.
