Fresh roasted coffee beans are a popular commodity and have been around for centuries. In Lake Zurich, Illinois, they first began to be produced in the 1840s. The first coffee roasters were located on the east side of town and their shop was known as the Coffee House. By 1860, the roasters had moved to what is now called Second Street and began producing their products under the name of Peet's Coffee Company. In 1875, Roebuck & Co., a large coffee importer, purchased Peet's Coffee Company and changed its name to Roebuck & Company. At this time, it became one of the leading coffee companies in America. In 1902, Ohio-born Byron Whetstone acquired Roebuck & Company from Byron Whetstone's father-in-law John Dutton and renamed it Brown Bros., Incorporated (BBI). Brown Bros.' main production site was in Schaumburg, Illinois; however, it also marketed its coffees throughout North America. The company continued to produce high quality coffee until 1984 when it merged with Kruppco Corporation to form Brown Corp.

The newest trend in coffee is the fresh roasted beans. These beans are hand roasted and then packaged for sale. The most popular brands of fresh roasted coffee are Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts, and Caribou Coffee. Fresh roasted coffee has a more acidic flavor than ground coffee. It is also high in caffeine content because the roast time is so short.

Lake Zurich, Illinois is home to one of the most famous and well-known roasting companies in the world, Starbucks. The coffee company was started by two friends, Roethlisberger and Schultz, in 1997. They roasted their first beans at a small farm near Chicago. Over time, they began moving their roasting operation to larger facilities in Illinois and then into other states. In 2007, they opened their first location outside of Chicago.

Lake Zurich is a large, body of water located in Cook County, Illinois, on the north side of the Chicago metropolitan area. The name was given to it by General George Washington in 1771 as part of his land grant to the Cadenheads. It lies within the city limits of Chicago and is bordered by Deerfield Township on the south, Winnetka Township on the east, South Shore Township on the north and Clybourne Park on the west. The population of Lake Zurich was 135,623 at the 2010 census. The first Europeans to visit what is now Lake Zurich were French traders who traveled through what is now northwestern Illinois in 1701-02. They cachered (traded goods) from Canada downriver to Fort Dearborn and then upriver to where they camped for a few days before continuing their trip back home. A small community developed near present-day Rockford after French traders abandoned their caches there in 1721-22 because of an intense heat wave that summer. The first settlement at Rockford was called "New France." The English explorer Samuel de Champlain visited what is now Lake Zurich in 1673 while exploring Northwestern Illinois during his journey from Quebec City to Detroit. He named one of its lakes "Zurich" after his hometown, Switzerland. For many years it was thought that Champlain had pronounced this word with a long "y" sound like how some people say "shee-wah", but evidence suggests he actually pronounced it with a short "i". In 1803 Congress authorized Surveyor General John Snyder to survey all of Northwest Indiana and adjoining states under US jurisdiction as part of the Compromise Of1803 which ended American war with Great Britain. On November 3, 1803 Snyder surveyed part of Minnesota along parallel lines extending northeasterly from White Cloud Creek into Michigan Territory (now Wisconsin). This territory became known as Upper Michigan when it was divided between America and Russia following Napoleonic Wars ending in 1815; henceforth Russias portion included most or all of what is now western Wisconsin including parts today's Racine County (the eastern boundary being Kankakee County), northeastern Iowa (the northern boundary being Ottawa County), eastern Manitoba (the southern limit being Saskatchewan County), and much or all of Northwestern Ontario including Toronto Island until amalgamation with Ontario in 1949/50.. Coffee has been enjoyed for centuries by humans, and it is now known as one of the most important beverages on earth. The first coffee was grown in Yemen around 7600 BCE. In ancient Rome, coffee was used to make morning tea. The beans were ground and brewed using water and a small amount of baking soda until they reached a thick white cream consistency. Roasted coffee beans were then placed in a pot with hot water and baked at an oven-like temperature until they became firm enough to handle. Grinding these beans manually provided the earliest form of espresso, which was made from two ounces of fresh roasted coffee mixed with two ounces of cold water. The Egyptians are credited with being the first to roast their own coffeebeans. They would grind whole beans and place them into copper kettles that heated up before serving them cold or boiling water over high heat until they became soft enough to drink (this process is still done today). This type of roasting allowed for a more complex flavor profile than typical drip-style coffees found today. It wasn’t until about 2500 BCE that Greece began producing its own coffee beans from bean fields near Athens. At this point, roasting methods changed significantly; instead of baking at an oven-like temperature, Greeks burned their beans on open fires while they cooked their dinner! Arabia soon followed suit; starting out by grinding their own Beans but eventually going along with European methods. By 1525 CE, Turkish Coffee had replaced Arabian Coffee as the favorite beverage among Turks in Europe because Turkish Coffee contains more caffeine than any other variety found outside Arabia/Syria/Egyptian countries (the exception being Java Tea which contains lower levels of caffeine). Today’s Arabica types are originated from Ethiopia where Robusta Jackfruit or Sumatra Sulawesi styles are typically roasted – providing rich flavor profiles that differ greatly from those characteristic of other regions such as Africa or Asia where lighter roasts are common including Light Italian Roast which uses less caffeine than our Ethiopian counterparts) . It wasn’t until about 1800 CE when Europeans began importing Indonesian Coffee into Europe due to its unique flavor profile which differed markedly from anything else available back then! Not only did Europeans experiment with different roast techniques but also they developed new ways to package and sell their prized commodity - making it increasingly difficult for others to replicate what Europeans were able to create initially!

Lake Zurich, Illinois was founded in 1815 by the U.S. government as an Indiana Territory. The area that makes up today's Lake Zurich was part of what is now northern Illinois. In 1818, the United States Congress passed a bill creating the town of Geneva on the east side of the Chicago River in what is now Cook County. The town was named for John J. Geneva, a fur trader who had come to America from Switzerland in 1814 and died in 1820 near Geneva.
