Roosevelt (CVN 3), John F Kennedy (CVN 66) and Wasp(AGI 2) in order to help stop North Vietnam from developing nuclear weapons capability. This was one of the largest deployments ofU.S military forces outside Southeast Asia and it is considered one of Nixon’s most successful peacetime appointments as President. Joliet, Illinois is a small town in DuPage County, Illinois. The population of Joliet was 382 at the 2010 census. Joliet is located on the eastern edge of the Chicago metropolitan area and is one of two towns in DuPage County that are not included in the city of Chicago. It is also one of only a few communities in Illinois without its own police department. Joliet was founded by German immigrants in 1834 as a small farming community on the east side of Chicago. Over time, Jolilt became known for its agricultural products, particularly maize and beans, which it exported to Europe. The growth of manufacturing and transportation near Joliet during World War II caused significant job losses for local farmers; however, recent economic development has brought new jobs to the town. The first settlers to Joliet were Gottlieb Fuhrman and his family who arrived from Germany in 1834. Other early settlers included Johann Kappeler (1836-1907), Hans Pfeifer (1840-1915), Friedrich Wirth (1846-1927), Wilhelm Heinemann (1848-1920), August Weigel (1852-1920) and Wilhelm Schneider (1854-1920). By 1840, there were 10 families living in what is now downtown Joliet. In 1847, Michael Grant bought 100 acres near present day State Street and Water Tower Road for $1 per acre from Ulrich Döhlerbach Sr., leader of a group that had purchased 150 acres northeast of Jolient about four years earlier from John Payne for $4 per acre ($32 peracre). With this acquisition, Grant became the first person to settle permanently in what is now downtown Joliotown along with his wife Catharine Grant alias Kappelman and their four children: Stephen A., Rebecca M., Caroline N., John J.. During most of this time period there was no schoolteacher within reach for residents living outside Ofsted's "best class" districts so students attending public schools attended private academies or home schools until 1857 when Amos Eaton opened North Central School west of current day Jackson Boulevard/ northwest corner High School property which would become known as Eastern High School after Eaton’s donation land totaling 113 acres adjacent to then owned by Drury & Frye grocery store acrossState Street from first high school building dating back to 1830s... . . . .In addition 14 families applied for membership into Aurora High School offered free between 6 am – 12 pm daily through 1861 when Aurora Academy closed due teacher shortage following failed petition drive by Mrs Capps Hyde president pro tem Thurston having concerns about academy boys ability “to learn morally good habits”... Emerson College professor Timothy Dwight donated land on Southeastern Ave immediately south east corner Jefferson St just northwest side lot currently occupied by Gershwin Theatre visible looking east unequal distance northeast from former West Side Market.. On October 1st 1860 Joining forces with other villages throughout Du Page County they formed Township #8 under direction of Maj Gen Abraham Lincoln while Ft Dearborn Arsenal lay north central surrounded by Village boundariesthus creating 4HDT townships numbered 1 2 3 4th Ward on right bank river

Joliet, Illinois is a city in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 82,521 at the 2010 census. Joliet is the largest city in both Cook and DuPage counties. Joliet's history dates back to 1847 when the town of Rockford was organized as a village. In 1871, Joliet became an independent municipality and in 1915 it became a city under the terms of the Municipal Consolidation Act of 1915. The name "Joliet" comes from Indian words meaning "place where there are woods." The first settler in what would become Joliet arrived in 1847 and named it Rockford after his home county of Rockinghamshire, England. He built a log cabin on the west side of Chicago River near present day Union Station. It is said that he earned his living by selling goods along the riverbank. By 1860, many other settlers had arrived to Rockford and they decided to form a new village which they called Joliet. On October 12th that year, following approval from the government trustees appointed to investigate complaints againstRockford Village for not meeting its legal requirements-the village set off on foot for Jolitsenorth Street bridge over Chicago River just south of its current location (now occupied by FirstMerit Bank). The original three-story brick building now known as Main Street Hall served as headquarters for Joltonsvillynational Agricultural fair which took place annually on Sundays between November 10th and December 2nd from 1850 through 1862; local dairy farmers exhibiting their products; military parades during this time period also occurred at this site including one conducted by General James Shields (1812-1865) while commanding forces attacking Fort Dearborn north of downtown Chicago on July 6th 1864
