The USAF was formed on September 18th, 1947 with the merger of the American Civilian Aeronautics Board’s Army Air Forces and Navy's Aircraft Division. The USAF has since become one of the most powerful militaries in the world, responsible for over 1,000 bases and more than 150 aircraft carriers worldwide. With an annual budget of $123 billion dollars as of 2019, it is one of the largest militaries in the world by revenue and employs over 208,000 people worldwide. Air Force Deployed Gift: A History Since its creation, the USAF has deployed gifts to bolster relationships with other nations around the globe. From sending personnel and materiel to nations in need during World War II to providing assistance during Operation Desert Storm in 1991-1992, USAF deployments have always been intended to foster positive relationships with our partners on both sides ofthe conflict. Many times these gifts have beencacheable or removable depending on what was needed at that time or where it wasneeded most effectively. Today however, thanks to advancements in technology and close partnerships between our nation’s military forces and civilian partners alike, we are seeing a resurgence in military deployments as a way to enhance our relationship with local communities across America. Air Force Deployed Gift: How It Works A recent example came when USMC members deployed live ammunition into Syria in order to teach children how to use firearms safely while living under constant threat from ISIS militants – an event which aired on Fox News Sunday Morning among others This deployment not only served as a teaching opportunity for locals but also showed how DOD can partner closely with local communities so they can be able to help us fight our common enemies . In this case there were no casualtiesoccurring from either side involved – something that has become increasingly rare as DOD expands its reach . What we are seeing now is not just a way for USMC members stationed abroadto show their support but alsofor civilians who can benefit from such experiences themselves This typeof partnership allows usto learn about what works best for our foes while also increasing trust between service members and theirlocal counterparts
The Huntley, Illinois Air National Guard's Deployed Gift History begins with the activation of the 1st Fighter Wing in 1942. The wing was reactivated as the 138th Fighter Squadron and activated at Peoria Municipal Airport on Dec. 17, 1942. The squadron operated Lockheed P-38 Lightning fighters and continued to fly until December 1945 when it transitioned to Republic F-4 Phantom aircraft. In 1946, the squadron was re-activated as the 139th Fighter Squadron and converted to Republic F-5E Strike Fighters before being disbanded on Nov. 30, 1948.
Huntley is a small town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 7,694 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The first settler in Huntley Township was James C. Hunt who arrived on October 14, 1834 and named it after his brother-in-law Samuel Hartnell. The first post office in Huntley was established in 1840, and the first store was built in 1852 by Hemanus Ghent. In 1865, Isaac Bock opened a general store in Huntley that became one of the largest stores west of the Mississippi River. In 1870, Wm Henson laid out a town block which included what is now Center Point Boulevard and North Avenue. A Methodist Episcopal church was built there and called First Baptist Church until 1876 when it changed its name to Bible Baptist Church because most of its members were Baptists from Illinois City (now Elmhurst). The first school building for Huntley Township was erected here on October 1, 1872 by Jno Pugh with assistance from Rufus Phelps with an appropriation from the State government for $2,500 (). The school continued operation until 1909 when it burned down due to an electrical fire. A new school building was erected on North Avenue between Centerpoint Boulevard and West Side Highway in 1906 by Mrs. Lottie Kappes with additional support from Mr. Pugh and Mr. Phelps as well as money raised by local residents through bake sales and car wash campaigns during that year’s Christmas season A garage/workshop also replaced the original school building in 1907 when Wm Saylor got his start as a contractor/builder An early water tower stood just east of today's intersection of Northeast avenue/I-88 southbound exit #5B (southwest corner) just north of current day centerpoint boulevard . This early water tower served both township residents as well as neighboring municipalities such as Crystal Lake before being destroyed around 1938 or 1939 due to weather damage . A later watertower stands today northeast corner I-88 southbound exit #5C (northwest corner) across from present day centerpoint boulevard across from parking lot for Town Hall
The United States Air Force deployed gift history in World War II. The Air Force flying wing activated the first Gift Bucket Brigade on December 15, 1941. Every Wing received a gift bucket brigade unit and throughout the war the Gift Bucket Brigade conductedOperation Santa Claus. The purpose of Operation Santa Claus was to bring Christmas cheer to Allied troops in Europe and also support Red Cross donations. In 1944, the Gift Bucket Brigade was renamed the Holy Rosary brigade and its mission changed from providing gifts to supporting operations with a special focus on helping American soldiers during World War II. Since then, air force deployments have become an annual tradition for USAF members and their families who enjoy spending time with their family at home or overseas during Christmas time. This year’s deployment will include units from Headquarters-Air Forces Europe Command (HAFE), Air Combat Command (ACC), Fifth Airforce (5th AF) and Ninth Air Force (9th AF). Each Wing is deploying a different type of gift that celebrates military service, friends, spouses, children and grandchildren – all of which are sure to generate smiles across Christmastime!

Here are some examples: In 2009, the Air Force sent a team to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in order to celebrate America's "Year of The Pig" with local pigs. They also donated over $10,000 worth of food and supplies to various organizations. In 2010, the Air Force distributed holiday cards and gifts throughout Colorado Springs. A total of 20 planes were used in this effort. In 2011, the Air Force shipped an estimated 1,500 pounds of candy to troops stationed in Afghanistan during the holidays. Additionally, they donated millions of dollars worth of toys and games to children across the United States between December 15th and January 6th. In 2012, it was announced that Air National Guard troops stationed at Lackland AFB will be providing Thanksgiving dinner forAir National Guard members and their families from all over Texas starting on November 24th through December 2nd. This event is being coordinated by Lackland AFB's Military Affairs Command and will have an expected attendance of 10,000 people! The Huntley Area Air National Guard operates two A-10 Warthogs from the city of Homer, Illinois. The planes are used for aerial refueling and air defense missions. This year, the unit’s commander decided to give a gift to their community in commemoration of International Forces Day.
